It was a wonderful experience with the tour guide Mr. Anuj, who is extremely attentive and hospitable. He treated us warmly and made the journey a very comfortable experience. Anticipating the cold and rainy weather on the day, he had ponchos and umbrellas ready for everyone. He even served compliemntary snacks and trated us to Hocky Pocky chocolates as well as other salty snacks and water. His driving, navigation and oratory are excellent and it is very clear that he is very passionate about his profession. Regarding the tour: The Tranzalpine train journey is well worth it, especially in the open air compartments, and the return in the shuttle is a good combination to finish the trip. Overall a great experience.

The hike to Devils Punch Bowl is an intermediate level as the stairs are quite a high step up. Thoroughly enjoyable once you reach your destination.

Excellent TranzAlpine tour to Arthur’s Pass. Our guide and driver, Anuj, was outstanding—knowledgeable, hardworking, and very attentive. A locomotive issue caused a major delay and made for an exceptionally long day, but Anuj remained upbeat, drove safely, and kept the experience enjoyable throughout. One of the best tours we have taken.

Fantastic from start to finish. Great guide who explained everything clearly and thoroughly. Options for hiking, dining walking, sightseeing. Amazing views from the train and bus, and all transport very comfortable. No bathroom on bus, but plenty of stops so not an issue. Two thumbs up!
