It rained early in the tour , we were here in late Sept. Guatape was a nice small town with lots of good coffee. Climbing La Piedra was not as tough as it might seem. Good experience all around. Our tour guide Felipe kept us informed and entertained all through the trip.
Juan Martinez was a great guide. He gave us facts about the region and such when it was necessary and let us relax when needed. The lunch was average in taste but portions were adequate. The diverse stops makes it a good all day tour for a first time visitor.
If you’re looking for an all-in-one Guatape and El Penol tour - look no further. Viaja Medellin reached out to me the day before the tour, assigned a tour guide, reiterates what you need for the day and where/when you need to be at the meeting point. A tip for the tour itself - while you do go on a boat tour, you do not have a chance to get into the water. This wasn’t a deal breaker but wanted to call out that you do not need a bathing suit. Breakfast and lunch were absolutely delicious. Another tip, order the chorizo for lunch. The tour visits a famous chorizo restaurant that my family verified by the signs outside. It was absolutely perfect and was accompanied by a lime that was orange inside. We were assigned Ginna as our tour operator - she was absolutely perfect. She answers any and all questions while providing you very interesting facts about Colombia, El Penol and Guatape. By all means, bring cash if you can since it’s easier to transact but know that many vendors accept credit cards with minimum limits. Get a pandebono from the bakery at Guatape and a cinnamon roll because they’re that good. Know that as you eat throughout the day, breakfast and lunch are filling! I can’t wait to go back and choose Viaja Medellin again. Thank you Ginna!!!

Climbing on the rock was much easier and view was much better than I thought before. Guatapé was just AS amazing and colorful.
I loved this experience, every moment of the tour was wonderful, from the meeting point, which was very easy to find the group, the transfer because the guide shared fun facts, he made the atmosphere very pleasant; the breakfast and lunch were delicious in addition to being typical dishes, and although the place was the same for both meals, it was great because it had a very nice view and at the tables you can meet and chat with people just as adventurous. I liked that when I felt the tour was about to end, there was still another activity left, so you have to go prepared with comfortable shoes, water, a cap (you can leave things on the bus which is very useful), a charger (the bus has outlets). I really loved everything.

A day well spend! Alexander our guide was knowledgable. The pick up and drop of location was excellent. The bus was comfortable. Alexander told us about the history of the places we visited and what we could expect. We had a good breakfast and good lunch. We visited la Piedra del Penol. I didn't climb it, but there was enough at the foot to see. We also visited the colorful town of Guatape. There was so much to see in the colorful town of Zocalos. Do visit the Calle de Recuerdos as the zocalos tell a beautiful story. I wish we could have stayed 30 minutes longer as ther was so much to see. We also went on the boat trip on the reservoir that was made for generating hydro electricity. The stop at the animal farm was our last stop and fun as the lama's and alpacas where very enthousiastic as we fed them. All and all a very fun trip. Thank you Alexander for taking good care of us!

Incredible We were a little hesitant because normally the tours are very limited, but in this case it was the opposite Besides the price covering just the trip, breakfast and lunch were also included. But without a doubt, the guide Felipe was a real key point for this, besides liking what he does, he loves his country and values the traveler for being interested in knowing him.
