I think we did 12 tours on this trip to Italy and this was our least favorite. The tour guide in Pompeii was great. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was touted “Pompeii for kids” it says that right in the description but we were then charged an additional 50 euros to add for our 12 year old which was crazy for the cost of this tour. Our driver was very nice but the van was old, certainly not the upscale Mercedes for the price of this tour. Every other vehicle in all our other tours were nicer than this one. While we had a nice day and they were very responsive to questions, we felt it was overpriced. If you are going to be more expensive than every other tour, your vehicle should be exceptional and there should not be any added costs, left us disappointed.

We are, however, sorry to hear that some aspects of the experience did not meet your expectations, and we would like to clarify a couple of points for the benefit of future travelers.
Regarding the “Pompeii for Kids” activities, the additional charge was not added unexpectedly. At the time of booking, the option selected did not include the children’s activities. We contacted you to explain that these could be added for an additional fee, payable directly on the day of the tour, or alternatively that you could contact Viator to modify your booking and select the appropriate option in advance. We always try to make these details as clear as possible so that our guests can choose the experience that best suits their needs.
As for the vehicle, we are sorry that it did not match your expectations. We would nevertheless like to clarify that the Mercedes minivan provided was in line with the vehicle category specified in the tour description. It was clean, thoroughly sanitized, fully air-conditioned, equipped with leather seats, and maintained to ensure a comfortable and pleasant journey.
While it was not the latest-generation Mercedes V-Class model, it was still a Mercedes minivan offering essentially the same interior space, dimensions, and onboard comfort. We do have several latest-generation Mercedes V-Class vehicles in our fleet, and had we known in advance that having the newest model was particularly important to you, we would have been happy to accommodate that request whenever possible. The main difference between the two models is essentially the exterior design and generation, rather than the dimensions or services provided during the tour.
We are genuinely sorry that, despite our efforts to provide a comfortable and well-organized experience, the tour did not feel like the right value for you. We greatly appreciate your positive comments about our guide and driver, as well as your acknowledgment of our responsiveness throughout the experience.
We hope that this clarification is helpful to future guests considering our tour, and we thank you again for sharing your perspective.

Outstanding tour of the Amalfi coast and Pompeii
My family thoroughly enjoyed a 9 hour visit to the Amalfi coast and an outstanding tour of Pompeii. We had three young kids with us and Giuseppe was able to make the trip enjoyable and engaging for them. Giuseppe was a wonderful tour guide and very skilled driver along the winding roads. I would highly recommend this tour!

Exceeded all expectations
I really cannot say enough about our 3 days with Fabrizio. He is a historian and archeologist by training, has 30+ years of guide experience and will build you a totally personal trip depending on your interests. I was specifically looking for someone with a good knowledge of the history of Pompeii and Herculanium. He exceeded all expectations. He has both broad and very deep knowledge of Roman history, Pompeii and the Amalfi region. He got into the weeds with my mom about history stuff but also was good at engaging our kids with age appropriate interesting information about life in 79AD. When we go back (which we all want to - including my 2 teenagers) I will certainly be calling him again!!

Fabrizio the magician
This experience was tremendous. We did it as a day trip from Rome. Fabrizio picked us up from the Naples train station in the morning and returned us in the evening. Our Pompeii tour was catered to our three kids, but he made it incredibly interesting for us all. There are certain places that I’m sure are always busy (forum, market) but he knew how to guide us away from the crowds. Most importantly, he kept our kids engaged for the full three hours. We could not ask for a better tour guide.
After lunch he took us on a beautiful drive along the Amalfi coast, ending in Sorrento. We had to change plans because of a road closure going to Ravello, and he gave us a memorable afternoon without missing a beat.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to explore pompeii, Naples, or the other tours they offer.

Family Tour of Pompeii
We had an incredible day with Giuseppe visiting Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. From the moment we booked the tour, we had top notch customer service with several suggestions on how to best tailor our tour for our needs. The kids were excited the entire tour of Pompeii between Giuseppe’s games, stories, and map. He had such a wonderful and positive attitude with so much patience for all of the kids questions. The seaside town of Maiori was out of postcard and the views from Ravello were breathtaking. Giuseppe gave us the perfect amount of information, guidance, and independence to roam and explore. Great tour excursion
Giuseppe was a wonderful guide and host for the day. He showed us the beauty of Amalfi Coast and some of the charming small towns. He then took us to Pompei and we were impressed with his knowledge of such a vast historical site. Our family had an amazing time and we cannot wait to visit Italy again. We would definitely use them again.

Pompeii, Wine tasting and Positano
Fabio was amazing!! We toured Pompeii, and had a wine tasting/ tour at Mt. Vesuvius, then to our hotel in Positano! Fabrizio even set us up with a driver back to the airport for our departure which is very helpful!!!! 10/10 recommend!!!

Excellant Tour of Pompeii and the Amlafi Coast
Had an amazing time touring Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Giuseppe promptly picked us up on time and gave us a very informative ride on our way to Pompeii. Van was very clean and spacious to fit 7 adults. He was very accommodating and gave us the experience we were looking for our on tour. He made a great recommendations for a lunch restaurant while showing us the amazing views on the way to the Amalfi Coast.

Treated us like family
What a magical day for our family. Leisure Italy provided us with first class treatment. Vincenzo was so organized and responsive.
