You spend a lot of the time on the coach. You have short stops for about 15 minutes at each location which by the time you have queued for the toilet there is no time to see anything. 1 hour 20 minutes for a lunch break with option of a 15 euro set menu at a restaurant. There are many twist and turn roads at height as you go up and around the mountains and back down again which are equally as challenging for the driver who did a brilliant job. Spent 11/2 hours at the beginning picking up people from hotels and again on the journey back. This could be improved by just having one central location at each resort to speed this process up.
If you are nervous passenger or fear of heights then this probably isn’t the trip for you.
Tom the tour guide was very knowledgeable about past and current history and was able to switch commentary between different languages effortlessly.

Excellent Value
It is quite a long day - picked up at 08.30, dropped off 18.30 - and covered a lot of miles, some of them pretty twisty up and down the hills.
It was a good way to see parts of Gran Canaria that we have never visited before, and the stops were well timed and long enough.
Lunch was a real bargain at €15 each for three tasty courses and the banana farm was informative and well worth the €2 extra.
Our guide, Tom, is very knowledgeable and switched effortlessly between German and English for his commentary throughout the day.

An interesting trip, with flaws.
More than an hour was spent at the beginning in collecting clients from different towns, cutting short the time available for the excursion. As a result not enough time was available at some stops i.e only enough time at Mogan (a major resort) to briefly walk towards the centre and immediately return to the coach. Also at Las Palmas we didn't have time to see the City centre or Las Canteras beach, only a shopping mall. On the positive side, Tom the guide did a great job of talking to the customers in English, German and Spanish fluently, and did his job well. Overall, good but some improvement is needed.

Do not take visitors for bankable tourists!
We took first this company for our transfert from the airport to our hotel. Despite many issues to localize our driver upon arrival, this person was not really friendly. We realized afterwards that the cost of the transfer was more expensive than an official taxi…
We selected this company for a Gran Tour of the island as we got good feedback. At a first glance, the excursion may seem not too bad but: 1/ 1 extra bus is necessary to start the excursion (pick-up time at the hotel at 9:15 and first place visited at 10:45…), 2/ very sound and terrific music during the vulcanos tour making our 9-year old daughter cry twice without clear and scientific explanations, 3/ lunch break in a poor restaurant (extra price by 12€ per person) with stinky washrooms) and 4/ wine tasting useless. In fact, this is not a real discover of the island which is proposed but unfortunately only a commercial tour for bankable tourists. Never again!

I wouldn't do it again.
Two hours left to collect tourists from the various facilities, a bit too much... Unfortunately the weather was not great, but we still did not see exciting things as we expected, in fact, in Gran Canaria we even ended up at the mall because it rained and it was impossible to access the beach! Good guide who with his experience has plugged the holes of this tour. I would like to point out that lunch in a restaurant in Porto de las Nieves for my husband ended with intoxication probably caused by the seafood of paella. The most annoying thing is that the tour had been booked departing from Las Palmas, but at the last moment we were told that it would leave from Maspalomas, at the opposite end of the island!

Nice touring the island
We had a very knowledgeable tour guide Tom and a great driver Lisandro. The tour provides a nice overview of the island. (total distance driven 220km) There was plenty time for sightseeing. The lunch was great. Couple remarks:
Before booking it is stated that the tour operator has 312 pickup points. After booking we were told a different pickup point by the operator than the one we provided during booking. In our case a 35 minute walk (one way) from our original pickup point. When we arrived at the banana plantation we were told there is a € 2 entrance fee. Not a big deal but not mentioned before. Also there was no coffee, just an explanation by the tour guide (which was good).
The final stop of the tour was at a shopping mall in Las Palmas. For us not necessary, but that’s just us.

Toddlers not welcome?
During the tour we had unpleasant experience, because we felt being discriminated as parents of a toddler. So, we are a family with a 12 year old boy and a 2.5 year old girl. We were sitting in the bus in row 3, and after an hour from the start of the tour, our little girl started crying about something (as small kids usually do). The crying was short, lasting about a minute. The guide immediately reacted to our child's crying, and told us that we have to move to the back of the bus. He also suggested, at this point at the begining of the tour, that one of the parents should take a taxi and return to the hotel with the girl. So this minute was fully sufficient for him to suggest that half of our family should leave the tour.
At the first stop, we received a call from another person from the travel agency, who said that other passengers would be complaining about us. So based on short 2.5 yo chld´s cry, other passengers would be , according to this person be unsatisfied and complaining, but the girl was completely calm afterwards. He said that we had to move to the back of the bus because everyone are going to be disturbed (NB! Crying lasted for 1 minute!). Of course we went to the back of the bus, that was not an issue, while it felt unfair to be made to do so. The other co-passengers were kind, smiling to our daughter and asking if we would like them to help us taking a family photo, so we did not notice any kind of effect of her crying on their experiences while being on the tour.
We later asked the guide if there had been any complaints, to which he replied that there had not been any yet, but that was guaranteed based on his long experience, and we therefore felt really unwelcome.
Although the guide was really competent and very eager to tell us about the details of Grand Canary, unfortunately his behaviour towards a family with a small child was rather disrespectful. We were in the back of the bus (as directed by the gude) until the end, and the little girl was quiet for the rest of the journey, and she said that the guide was angry with her just because she cried.
I will leave it to other families to think about whether this tour is suitable for small children (please be aware that the organizer does not mention for the tour to be unsuitable for toddlers). Although the content of the tour, and the qualification of the guide were of a rather high standard, we were left with a sad and a shocking feeling, and we consider that type of behavior with a small child to be completely inadequate.
