This tour was one of the most unique experiences my partner and I have ever had. To start, my partner had recently gotten very into the world of coffee, so we wanted to experience authentic Colombian coffee. What we didn’t expect was the incredible scenery and the depth of knowledge our guide, Erika, would share along the way. In both her native Spanish but also perfect English. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about coffee, but she also gave us amazing insight into Colombia during the drive. She even took us to breakfast at a delicious local restaurant before arriving at the beautiful town of Jardín, where she introduced us to traditional treats and our first cup of delicious coffee cup of the day. After that, we continued to Wilson’s coffee plantation, and the view alone was breathtaking. A traditional Colombian lunch was prepared for us, and once we finished, Wilson guided us through the entire coffee process. He explained coffee production in Colombia, showed us the different types of bees on his farm (I’m a beekeeper, so I especially loved this!), and the highlight — taking us into the mountains where his family owns several farms so we could pick our own coffee. We were then guided through the full production process ourselves: depulping, roasting, and finally enjoying a fresh cup of coffee from the beans we picked that day. Erika complemented the experience perfectly by translating everything Wilson explained (my partner does not speak Spanish) and even took photos for us so we could fully enjoy the moment. Erika made sure we were comfortable on our ride back — adjusting the air conditioning, letting us recline the seats, and honestly, we got along so well we spent most of the drive happily talking and discussing Colombian history. This experience was incredible and truly memorable. I would recommend this tour 1000%.

We took the coffee plantation tour to Jardín, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Erica was our host, and she was right on time picking us up at our hotel. Although it was a long day (about 12 hours), she kept the energy high throughout with her upbeat personality and deep knowledge of coffee. She truly knows the process inside and out. Wilson, the owner of the coffee plantation, was equally upbeat and fun, and it was fascinating to see the entire coffee process from start to finish. Ending the day with a tour of the beautiful town of Jardín—and, of course, more coffee—was the perfect way to wrap up the experience. Erica got us back to our hotel without any issues. We had a great day with our driver and guide, Esteban, who is a skilled driver that doesn’t take any chances and drives very safe. His English is fluent and he has great knowledge in both coffee production, the region around Jardin and Colombian issues in general. The farm and the owner, Wilson, and his family was also a great experience. We can only recommend this excurcion.

There were 2 of us with our guide Alexandro. What a day! The experience at the Café del Jardin farm was very complete. Wilson, our host explained the whole process of growing and processing coffee from coffee maker to cup. But in addition, we were in the Jeep plantation, picking coffee beans and helping to prepare them to finally taste them in coffee. Then we continued the visit to the small town of Jardin. A little jewel of dip houses, small shops and the possibility to make nature excursions, but especially stop in one of their many cafes more picturesque than each other. We loved it. To top it off, we went to the Jardin de Rocas nature reserve to admire the rock roosters and their bridal dance. Nice experience.

Our guide, Erika, was very informative. She was friendly and drove us confidently through mountain ranges and through city streets. The coffee plantation tour was excellent. We were explained the whole process, then we actually participated in the process. We picked ripe coffee beans directly off the plants, we separated (skinned) the beans from the fruit/shell, we skipped the drying part (because that takes days), but we did shuffle/stir previously picked beans on a rooftop to facilitate drying. We then removed the outer skin from the dried beans, ground the beans, and finally brewed our own coffee. The local lunch was tasty (rice, fried plantain, yuca, potato, and option of beef, chicken, or pork). We later visited the town of Jardin, which was very picturesque. I highly recommend the tiny cable car to the top of a local mountain for a beautiful view of the town.

Excellent tour. It was all day, we were picked up at 7am and got back at 7pm. Would do it again for sure, I learned a lot about coffee production and we had a fantastic and relaxing day. My only recommendation is to take dramamine or something similar if you get car sick due to mountain roads.

We had a fabulous experience in this all day private tour. Erica picked us up at our hotel and was super informed and told us so much about Colombia and Medellin on our drive. The drive was stunning as we went through the back country roads. While at the family owned farm, we met the owner and he educated us on everything we needed to know about coffee. We also actually experienced the whole coffee planting, harvesting and roasting process. We later saw the town of Jardín, which absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful day trip from Medellin with visit to a coffee farm and Jardin. Our guide Laura was awesome, very knowledgeable, fun, and engaging. Wilson at the coffee farm was full of knowledge. His passion and love for his work was apparent. Highly recommended!

This was the highlight of our time in Colombia! We had a wonderful guide Erika who gave us great insight into the history and culture of the region, while doing it with humor and answering all of our questions. She went above and beyond to make sure the day was incredible.

Erika was the best - she was very knowledgeable about teaching things during the tour and made sure I had a good and comfortable time.
