It might be more amazing taken a little earlier in the dry season. You will learn a lot about the cultural significance of the area. Hamish, our young pilot was very skilled..10/10 for take offs and landings. He was very polite and sincere about cultural information that he shared with us. We felt very cared for. It was the highlight of our trip.
Simple check in procedure at a very civilised 8.30am. Departed on time with Cameron (pilot and business owner) who provided us with an informative and interesting commentary on our outbound flight. We were taken on a scenic route to show off the Kakadu country which is varied and rugged; really quite impressive. We landed on a dirt runway at Cooinda and were transported by bus to the resort. From there we were transported to the nearby Yellow water cruise. This experience was quite magical. The skipper/ guide was very knowledgeable and took time to explain the abundance of wildlife. We saw many crocs and a variety of bird life including brolgas and a sea eagle. Surprisingly we also saw several water buffalo enjoying the mud. We returned back to the resort for a very satisfying lunch of barramundi chips and salad with a local beer. Other option were available. After lunch we visited an aboriginal cultural centre which was very well presented ( and air-conditioned) and informative. We then re boarded the aircraft for the return flight which went directly back to Darwin will no commentary. If you only have a day to visit Kakadu, then this is most definitely the best way to do it. Cameron and his team offer a great experience at a very fair price.
The scenic flight was nice but very hot in the airplane. I really loved the river cruise. We saw lots of wildlife and lunch was delicious. A much better option from Darwin then taking a very long bus ride there and back.
What a wonderful way to experience such a beautiful part of the country. If time is limited and expectations are high, don't go past this opportunity. The group we were part of were great and our pilots were friendly and helpful. A big thankyou to all.
Authentic well delivered experience. Great staff who delivered extensive information about Kakadu. Beautiful venue and great food for lunch. All in all a highlight of our visit to the territory

Group was spilt into 3 planes. Only 3 of us in our plane, but we had wings which partially blocked the view. But Innis did slow turns so we all were able to see everything. Fantastic day and I feel that I saw so much more than doing a road trip. 90 minute scenic flight which seemed to cover a large amount of territory. Land at Cooindah. Use a bus for transport to cultural centre and Yellow Water tour. All only a few minutes drive Cultural centre was very interesting. You pick your lunch from menu on arrival at Cooindah, so it is ready when you get back from Yellow Water cruise. 90 minute Yellow Water cruise was really a bird and crocodile tour. I enjoyed it. Saw loads of crocodiles, wild horses, no water buffalo, but the birds were prolific and interesting. Brolgas, Jabirus, Kingfishers and so many more. My lunch choice was local barramundi, chips and salad, plus a drink of choice. Then a 45 minute flight back to Darwin. Great pilot in Innis who was informative and took very good care of us. Had to make own way to and from Kakadu Air office.

Would Highly Recommend taking this tour for an overview of such a unique area. Our pilot, Matthew who was friendly, very professional and provided great information including from personal experience of many years in the area. The flight was great and close to enough to point out various features below. Really enjoyed the River Cruise and Cultural Centre with lunch provided. Thanks to the whole team at Kakadu Air.
Our day trip with Kakadu Air Services was fabulous. Our pilot Jake was friendly helpful and inspired confidence. The yellow river cruise was absolutely a worthwhile inclusion. Topped off with a wonderful and generous lunch.
