Another great day out arranged by Bentota Travel Mart.We opted for the early pick up from Hikkaduwa at 4.30am .Dinesh got us to our guides house at the edge of the forest for about 7.00am. Once again he was very professional and left us to relax and look at the scenery once the sun rose.Our forest guide Ananda gave us coffee and cake before fitting us with leech socks. We left for the forest in his tuk tuk which was a few minutes drive away. He guided us through the forest showing us various reptiles and insects he had spotted through his keen eye!We walked through the forest on made up paths before the terrain became rough paths with tree roots to navigate. My wife does have knee issues ,but with Ananda's help and improvised walking stick,skillfully guided us to the waterfall.i took the opportunity to have a swim and it was so relaxing and quiet ,apart from the tremendous sound of the waterfall. At this point we hadn't encountered anyone else, possibly due to the organised early start! It soon became clear that we started out trek at the best possible time.i could see in the distance various groups we about to join us.so appreciated the quiet relaxing time we had. We returned on the same route we had come,again coming across reptiles and insects. Upon returning to Ananda's house,we were met with a splendid display of food ,cooked by Ananda's wife.The whole day was fantastic and very pleased with our tour and appreciated the fact it was just the two of us and could walk the trek at our own pace.Ananda,was a great guide and Dinesh a very capable driver and professional throughout the long day. Even adding on an hour stop off at Galle on the return journey.

We got picked up from Hiriketiya and it took us just over 2 hours drive to get to Sinharaja Forest. When we arrived the host's wife had a superb Sri Lankan lunch waiting for us, which was delicious! We then went for a 6km walk up a river (3km each way). On the way the expert guide showed us a lot of wildlife that we would have walked right past if we were by ourselves - we even held a snake, which, coming from New Zealand, we had never even seen one before (no snakes in NZ). After a swim at a waterfall, we made our way back to the start, then were dropped back at Hiriketiya about 7pm. An awesome day, and very different!

There’s isn’t much of landscaping to see, two hours walk in a narrow path through the jungle…it’s nice, but not astonishing, if you’re dying just to see the waterfall, then go, swimming by it is soul cleansing. But I wouldn’t redo it

This really is an excursion for the adventurous and one that you won’t forget. And again Bentota Travel Mart comes out as the best. Exemplary service. Calling out Sam and Lahir our driver. Hats off to you fellows. What a place to see , I say that as I’ve travelled on safaris and this one is there at the top. The ecosystem at its best.

Impeccable transport. Experienced and competent guide. Beautiful forest with a wonderful wild flora to discover! Good number of sightings among insects, reptiles and local birds

Didn't take as long as we thought to get there (we were driven from RIU in Ahunghalla) and the last part of the drive featured some spectacular rainforest scenery. Met our guide at his home and he walked us to the rainforest. He gave us leech socks and he salted our boots to kill leeches. The walk was really interesting. Saw lizards, moths, monkeys, spiders. Most of my family swam in the waterfall at the halfway point. Afterwards, had a delicious lunch at our guides house with lots of curry dishes.to choose from. Pasidu from Bentota was really helpful throughout the trip and took lots of photos. Another brilliant trip from BTM.

Wonderful discovery of this jungle and almost alone with our guide who explained the plants to us and introduced us to insects, birds and reptiles. Really great!!!

A beautiful climb to reach the magnificent viewpoint accompanied by a guide On the way back, stop for tea (or other) with a tasting of some Sri Lankan specialties Anti-leech protection to put in shoes is provided by the driver and we were able to see monkeys, chameleons, birds and butterflies On the way back we stopped for a coconut. It was a nice day

Bentota Travel Mart are excellent. Customer service is among the best I have encountered in all of my travels around the world. The booking process was smooth, the driver was on time and very affable, the tour was well planned out, and we were all well taken care of from start to finish. We will be using BTM for all of our excursions in Sri Lanka. P.S. younger kids may not like the rain-forest itself due to a few creepy-crawlies (especially during heavy rains that bring them out in force)...but this is nothing that older kids and adults cannot handle for a once in a lifetime experience.

We did a Trekking trip in Sinharaja Rain Forest with Benton’s Travel Mart . It was day to remember. We were guided by a professional Trekking guide and on our return we had local lunch. Thanks heaps to Bentota Travel Mart
