The tour to Elephanta island to see the caves and carved figures was superb. Marshall our guide met us at the hotel and accompanied us on the ferry to the island which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We were met by Trikal who was to be our guide for the caves, a fourth generation islander. Trikal was very informative and made our tour very special. He took time to explain the significance of the cave in the Hindu faith which made the visit excellent. Following the ferry return, Marshall took us on a city tour with J.Q our driver. J.Q was a careful driver in the very busy Mumbai streets. We visited some of Mumbai’s historical buildings but most memorable was the visit to Dhobi Ghat the famous outside laundry. It was incredible to see families who have worked there for generations and their endeavour to continue a very hard working tradition. Finally a visit to Crawford Market, one of the largest in India completed a very special day in Mumbai.
I have no hesitation in recommending this tour, and if you are lucky, you get Marshall as your guide. One of the best we have ever had on a guided tour anywhere.

Amazing tour- Gate of India x Elephanta Caves
The experience met my expectations. The guide was knowledgeable, courteous and great with adapting to a diverse group. I enjoyed the tour and learnt alot of rich history and culture from the Gate of India to the caves and the food was also amazing.

Elephanta Caves
We did the Elephanta Caves trip. Aryan was friendly and chatty and talked to us about the history of Mumbai and modern living within the city. He looked after us well. Pankaj guided us around the island. He shared the stories of the caves and took nice pictures of us. We were taken to his father and brothers shops on the way back to the boat. We bought a little wood carving but did not feel under pressure to do so. There are a number of steps to climb to get to the caves. There are also some brazen monkeys quick to steal food, and quite a lot of litter along the way. But none of this would put me off recommending the trip.

Elephanta Islands
Neha and Pankaj did a great job running the tour for the Elephanta Islands. The your is a bit tough with a hour + boat ride that does not go unless full but they did a great job filling in the time and providing a thorough history on the islands.
