Today I just returned from an incredible journey. The journey began with an informative ride with my guide. Afterwards I one hour boat ride to the Mayan Ruins Lamanai. Our guide was knowledgeable and made sure we experienced everything. The Lunch provided was delicious and home made. N. Gomez
We had two guides on this tour: Leo, who drove us from San Ignacio to the boat landing and back, and Eddy, who drove the boat and walked us around the site. We spent approximately 6 hours with Leo and 3 hours with Eddy. Leo is a walking encyclopedia of MesoAmerica: from Mayan times to modern times, about history, social sciences, anthropology, politics and philosophy, he is well-studied, willing to share, but measured with his opinions. Eddy’s forte is showmanship, he is a great entertainer and plays little tricks here and there. Quite fun. Overall a fantastic tour - don’t miss it.
