Sheki is a MUST visit place but I have some things to say about this tour.
Sheki is beautiful a MUST see place in Azerbaijan. but I have some things to say about this tour. 😅
Sheki is part of UNESCO world heritage sites. Its architecture, red tiled roofs and cobbled streets feels like you're transported back in time. It's really rich in history and culture. And literally a stunning region in Azerbaijan.
Let me commend our tour guide Ms. Naz, she's a lovely lady who made sure that we really see and understand the culture and heritage of Sheki.
And the best driver - Uncle Wahleh (the favorite person I met during this tour, sorry Naz) . He only speaks very little english but he has the most kind and lively aura. I was seated in front next to him and he offered me drinks, apple, sunflower seeds. But what I appreciated the most is when I'm on my phone and he will try to get my attention when we pass by beautiful places so that I wont miss it.
The tour itself is long, we started 7am and we arrived safely in Baku past 9pm.
To me there were places that we went to that was a bit unnecessary. Which made me feel like this is the reason we were a little rushed when we were trying to check scarfs and other souvenirs in Sheki center.
Also take note there will be extra expenses for entry fees and the food. I appreciate the Piti we had for lunch but for the breakfast, i hope they try a different restaurant with the same authentic breakfast food or a grocery store will do. 😊
Just my honest opinion 😁 thanks for reading.

Great trip to Sheki
Great trip to Sheki with excellent guide Nazir and driver Knyaz. Is a long day out but made interesting by the detailed commentary from Bazir and well timed stops along the way. Caravanserai and Khan Palace in Sheki worth the trip.

Sheki
We did this tour as the 2nd day of a two day booking. It ended up being 2 separate day tours with an overnight stay - so different groups and guides each day. We enjoyed this tour and were pleased we took the option to stay overnight as it is a long way to travel from Baku in a single day.
Naz was our guide and she did a great job explaining the sights, the history and significance for Azerbaijan culture. She was passionate and enthusiatic to show us around the region. She also kept us to time which is important on such long days. The palace was the highlight but we also enjoyed the temple and seeing more of the city.
The lunch was a good addition and catered well for the vegetarian in our group. The group size was 6 which was great and our vehicle was comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed the day but I do believe the overnight stay was a big part of that because it meant 4.5 hours less travel on an already long day.

Thank you again Nazparis.
I had the chance to get you as the same guide during 3 days over 4 days of visits.
You have a bright future in that job.
Best regards.

A day trip to Ras Al Khaimah
A very comfortable journey, the schedule was reasonable, the guide was excellent, and the explanations were very detailed, so even for someone whose English is not very good, I could understand the general idea.
