I loved my experience ! The dressing and hairstyling were done with so much care and attention to detail, which really puts you in the traditional mood. A huge thank you to Lu, the photographer, who was simply amazing ! She made me feel totally at ease with a smile and guided me to find the best spots and poses. The photos are gorgeous, and it’s an unforgettable souvenir from my trip. I recommend this experience a 100%!

Our family had a wonderful experience with the kimono rental and photoshoot for my daughter’s 15th birthday. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The team was efficient, professional, and incredibly talented — guiding poses, lighting, and angles with ease. The entire session felt natural, fun, and beautifully memorable. Highly recommended.

This was such an amazing experience on our trip. Looking back at the beautiful photos immediately transports us back to our time in Japan! We had such a great experience being able to rent kimonos, do a photo shoot, and participate in a traditional tea ceremony. This was truly a highlight of our trip and a core memory.

They were impatient and didn’t have a wide variety of kimonos like advertised. One rack for each size to be exact.

Such a fun and memorable experience for a birthday. The staff were fabulous, the makeup and dressing were professional, they have a great range of kimono to choose from, good props and the photographer was a hoot, really got us in the mood. And the photos are gorgeous if we say so ourselves!

It was an unforgettable birthday experience to be wearing a yucata and able to emmerse to walk in an ancient town in Kyoto. I experienced walking in a wooden sandals, along the cobblestone streets and felt like am during the feudal Japanese era. It was once in a lifetime experience. Carpe diem. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu.

The 7yr old and I did it, dressing up for the day. We wore kimonos for the warm day. They checked us for size and then let us chose which one we wanted to wear from a range. I went with this shop as it had kimonos for my larger shape. (If you are researching to book a kimono wearing check how wide they can go if you are of the larger size). English was limited but we were managed to work it out between us. They encourage you to go to the toilet beforehand as it's hard to go to the toilet in a kimono. You can wear japanese sandals as well if you chose to. They are hard on your feet if you aren't used to wearing flipflops so you may want to take your shoes with you. They will store your clothes and any backpacks but not luggage. We were the only english speakers there when we went to get ready.

We loved wearing kimono and yukata (it was a hot day!). Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was our first trip to Japan, and after 7 days of feeling a little lost, the kind staff told us just what to do and took care of everything. My husband and our friend looked so handsome. I had my hair and makeup done as well, and the ladies did such a great job! I haven't felt so pretty in a long time. We got so many compliments! Photographer Mao was wonderful and guided us through many poses. We have great photos from our trip that will last a lifetime! Next time I visit Kyoto, I will definitely use their services again.

I'd been looking forward to this for quite some time, and was definitely not disappointed! The shop staff were very friendly and welcoming, and helped me and my group to pick our kimonos and then put them on. We girls were each lent a small handbag for our valuables. Everything else was kept safe in the shop. Everyone was also offered a pair of shoes, but some of us chose to wear our own. The shop was close to a bus stop, so it was easy to travel to and from there. That was important, because we had to return our outfits by a certain time! "Arigatou gozaimasu" for everything. This experience was a highlight of my trip! :)

We travel with a group of about 20+ of us and our tour company booked as a "kimono" experience here at their main building - we all ended up being dressed up in various colors and styles and then had some pictures solo/couples and as a group - I would have never thought that this is going to be so much fun, and also how complex the kimono putting on is - but don't worry you will be assisted by the very nice people working here and they will dress you up through the entire process to make sure everything is on correctly, and applied beautifully! They have various sizes - I am 6'2" (185cm) and about 230lbs (105kg) and I had no problem finding one easily, but I can imagine as your waistline is greater and greater the chances of finding one here can get slimmer (pun not intended haha) as they do tighten it around your belly/waistline so it can get uncomfortable rather than fun experience! Afterwards we had a little tour of this traditional house and learn a bit more about it, though the kimono was the 99% of the experience
