We had a good start with Ramses Tours as we liked our guide Ahmed and the driver. Saw Cairo, The pyramids, Grand Egyptian Museum and Sakkhara, Memphis etc with them. All good. We also had a good guide in Aswan. The trouble began when we transferred from Aswan to Luxor and then were guided in Luxor. I couldn't understand a word the new guide said and we had him for 3 days. I listened to all the other guides who were easy to understand but ours shouted loudy in what I assume was English. I tried to change the guide and they offered another on the last day but not until the afternoon which didn't agree with our timetable. Having said that I should have taken the new guide for the afternoon instead of the morning as our guide ruined Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple and everything he took us to! I think Ramses (Ramasside) should take care when they choose guides. I have a feeling that they didn't vet this one as I think he was known by another guide that worked for them (who was very good).
Just got back from my trip to GEM and pyramids My guide was Lamiaa and her driver Collected from hotel and straight to GEM which is stunning, this experience was enhanced by Lamiaa whose knowledge and patience was brilliant Lamiaa knew when to provide commentary and also arranged for some solo time for me to explore Onto the pyramids via a papyrus shop with a demonstration of how papyrus is made The obvious charms of Cairo traffic where expertly navigated by our top driver The Pyramids and Sphinx were again expertly explained by Lamiaa who linked them to the facts and info she provided in the GEM Top guide I would not hesitate to recommend
