Tour was booked at the last minute and still accepted by the tour company. The tour guide spoke both English and Spanish, so even though everyone on the tour was able to understand Spanish, the guide made sure to speak with me in English after providing the information first in Spanish. We had time to take photos near the cathedral at the top of the mountain, in addition to order food. After the tour was complete, we could explore Monserrate's tourist market which was full of vendors selling clothing, jewelry, souvenirs and plenty of restaurants to eat food. It was a great time, but be prepared to be in that altitude for hours. Might be best to take an altitude medicine or drink some of the coca tea to prevent altitude sickness if you're not from the region or live in an area with high altitude.

Chris was fantastic! We had a bad trip into Bogota with a delayed flight, missed flight and lost luggage. So we needed to cancel and Gran Tours was great to accommodate us and reschedule for later. Chris told us where to stand in the cable car to get a great view and he knew a lot of great historical insights. As a Muslim, I had never seen a Black Mary! Great views and definitely eat at the Colombian restaurant up at the top with the views!

Great tour and history of Monserrate and Bogota! Maria, our tour guide. was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly...and quite patient! This was my first time visiting Bogota and my first tour. The historical information that Maria provided was truly insightful and valuable. Although it was quite cold on my tour day, I would still highly recommend this tour. [Note: If you're from warmer/hotter climates, be sure to check the temp for your tour date and wear weather-appropriate clothing.]

Beautiful place, very clean, nice to hear mass around the church

I booked this tour originally as I was a solo travellers and opted for easiness. In the end I thought it was just average. I did not receive any text or information prior so I was desperately looking for the guide when I arrived at the funicalar station. In the end we had to wait for about 15-20 min for late travellers. We took funicular, arrived to the top and did the normal walks. The guide was talking about the fauna and flora a little bit (it was a rainy day so not much to see). When we arrived at the church we got interesting stories about Bogota and the area. It went pretty quick and then the guide said it was it and left us up there. I opted for the way down via the walking path (which was nice). So it was ok but should have I known, I would have gone there on my own, purchased my own ticket (far cheaper, very quick and no need to wait for anyone). I would have taken a one way anyway as I liked the hike down (just about an hour).

Excellent service and the food was tasty

Very good route, our guide Cristian explained everything about Monserrate and also acted as a photographer for the whole group. Recommended tour.
