皇居 赤レンガの駅舎が印象的な東京駅から、日本の皇室の住まいである皇居へ向かいます。この美しいイチョウ並木は、大使や首脳が皇室に向かう際に通る道であり、途中、東京を代表する高層ビル群を通過することになります。 皇居に到着すると、桜や松の木が点在する広大な敷地と、深い堀に囲まれた威厳のある空間を楽しむことができます。宮内庁の建物は一般に非公開ですが、その周辺には見どころが多く中でも有名なのは二重橋で、宮内庁の敷地への入り口となっています。その横にそびえ立つ伝統的な建築物の桜田門とともに、その景観は長い間、東京の最も象徴的なもののひとつとされてきました。
外庭を散策した後、追手門をくぐって皇居東御苑に入ります。 この巨大な門は、かつて江戸城の正面玄関であり、250年以上にわたって日本を治めた徳川将軍たちの居城であり、17世紀初頭から19世紀まで江戸の政治の中心地であった。 庭園では、当時の魅力的な政治や文化に触れながら、城跡や礎石などが残る場所を見学します。 庭園の外輪には、椿や菖蒲、紫陽花など季節の花々が時期によって楽しめる穏やかな日本語庭園も。
日本橋 日本橋は、17世紀初頭から日本の国道が開通した商業の中心地です。何百年もの間、ここは日本の主要な商業地域であり、長い間、日本中の貿易をつなぐ店、道路、水路がひしめいていました。これらの店の多くは現在も残っており、ツアーではそのうちのいくつかを訪ねることになります。 しかし、本格的なツアーの前に、まずは19世紀の日本橋にタイムスリップし、商人や店、客でごった返す賑やかな最盛期を描いた10mの壁画レプリカ「熈代勝覧」を見学していただきます。オリジナルは、当時の代表的な作品として重要な位置を占めています。
にんべんだし屋 壁画から少し歩くと、にんべんのだし屋があります。出汁は日本の伝統的な出汁で、鍋料理や麺類など、日本料理の主役となるものです。店内では、だしの取り方を教わり、出来立てのだしを試飲することもできます。創業300年以上の老舗で、だしの取り方にもこだわっている。
山本海苔店 続いて、創業1849年の老舗海苔店「山本海苔店」へ。店内では、様々な種類の海苔を見ることができます。また、店員さんが海苔を炙り、販売する様子も見ることができます。
ツアーの次の目的地は、1792年創業の老舗日本語丁店「木屋 」 。 店内には、伝統的な日本語丁から、よりモダンなヨーロッパ風のものまで、数百種類の器が並んでいます。
木屋の後は大洲和州和紙店へ。 ここでは、さまざまな種類の日本の紙や文房具について学び、実際に目にするだけでなく、日本の伝統的な和紙である和紙のシートも作ります。 和紙は楮の粘土から出る強い繊維を含んでいるため、洋紙よりも太く、風合いのあるものが多い。
富山館 最後に、富山県のアンテナショップを訪ねます。ここでは、日本海に面した富山県産の商品が販売されています。ここでは、東京ではあまり売られていない様々な商品を見ることができ、その後、おいしい日本酒の試飲を楽しむことができます。

Castle grounds are spectacular. No castle per se. grounds are meticulously maintained. Lots of walking. Shopping in Nihonbashi district is great. All the 5 star shops are open there.
Our guide Mari was very nowledgable and accommodated our many questions. The day of our tour was high winds and heavy rain, but Mari we determined to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. She provided history of the palace gardens and the country of Japan. She took us to wonderful uncrowded photo sites. She was engaging and high energy. Our tour included a visit to a historic paper making shop, a dashi bar, and sake tasting. After tge tour, Mari made sure we were on the correct train.
A nice tour of the Imperial Grounds, and a much more interesting adventure after. The paper museum was amazing, and the food, sake and knife shops were great. Kishy was a great guide.
Great tour around Tokyo our guide Michi was extremely informative and knowledgeable about the local area. Finished of the tour well with Sake tasting.
Lots of information provided by local guides. Our guides English might not be perfect but communication was not a problem with her.
Guide barely spoke English and they missed half the stuff that was supposed to be on the tour without explanation. The guide seemed lost. We had a lot of other guides through other companies that were wonderful. I would not recommend this tour.
