Booked the cooking class spontanously in the morning for the same day, it was no problem. If you have food wishes let them know in advance, they're happy to fulfill them ;) Cooking and talking with Shobha was very nice. It was so interesting to get an inside into the indian way of cooking. Now I know why the food here is so amazing. And of course our food in the end was delicious as well!! Shobha was so kind and packed some food for me for my dinner in the evening as well. It was nice that the cooking class was in their home, so I got an inside into their life as well.

He was a very nice teacher. My family was kind and I loved them. He taught me various Indian dishes attentively. And they were all delicious! I was so impressed that I want to come back to Varanasi next year. I really recommend it. It was a wonderful memory for me! Thank you very much.

The cooking class was an amazing experience! The family welcommed me warmly in their home and Shobha is a very lovely person, who showed and explained everything. She was patient with my rather poor cooking skills and we had a lot to laugh while cooking. The food was fresh and delicious and it was very nice eating together with the family. I recommend this cooking class to everyone. It is not just about cooking, but also to get to know about India and to spend pleasent time with nice people :)

We had the best time in this cooking class. We were on an Intrepid tour and did this during our free time. It was at her house. Indu was the sweetest. It started with tea and cookies. Then we cooked and ate a delicious dinner. We were leaving on a night train after class, and she was nice enough to prepare food for everyone on the train. I definitely recommend it.

From Assi Ghat, through the grounds of Varanasi Hindu University, it takes about 10 minutes to get to the teacher's house. The lesson is in the kitchen of a house. The lesson is in English, but if you can speak a little English, I think you'll be fine. The teacher, Shoba, is very cheerful and kind, and I was able to enjoy the lesson. At the beginning, the teacher explains how to cut vegetables, etc., and then the students practice. I had almost no knowledge of Indian cuisine, so I learned a lot from learning how to use these spices to get the taste you want! It's really difficult to spread out the chapati-like paratha into a round shape... I'd like to try it again if I get the chance. After the cooking, we had a meal with Shoba's family. I like cooking. I had about half a day to spare after sightseeing in Varanasi. I'm worried about the hygiene of restaurants and food stalls. I recommend this place to people like that. I had booked another tour in the evening with the same tour company, so I took a nap at home. ^^;

As agreed I was picked up on time. The cooking class was held on a quiet area of this crowded and noisy city. The whole family made me feel welcomed and before the class they asked me if I have any allergies to certain foods. I have a basic knowledge of Indian cooking but still I was able to learn many new cooking skills. They let me actively participate in the cooking and I had plenty of time to take notes and videos. When it was time to leave, the family waived goodbye in front of their house. I definitely recommend this cooking experience to anyone looking for an informal and real homemade cooking experience.
