We did the 48hr “Explore” package which included unlimited use of the Hop On Hop Off bus on all three routes for 48hrs, return ferry tickets from Kowloon to the main island as well as tickets to the Peak Tram and observation deck. The commentary was some of the best we have experienced on similar hop on/ off experiences. A BIG call out to Marie from Big Bus Tours for booking us in - she was amazing. If it is your first time in Hong Kong this is a MUST do.

I am a big fan of Hop on Hop Off Buses, it’s a great way to get around and get picked up. I would recommend to book a two day tour to get more out of being dropped off around the city. Get to your experience early and plan your trip of getting to know the city for what could be cheaper than an uber and easier than trains.

We had decided to do the Big Bus Stanley hop on hop off bus, we had been to Stanley many years before. It had changed alot since we have visited but it is still a lovely place to view and relax by the ocean. Locals told us that the market area was not as busy as it used to be which is a shame. The ear plugs we were given were not working properly however, we had the guide leaflet to let us know when to get off. The staff at pier 7 were very helpful & friendly. The road to that area is still a little crazy and very narrow in places but it all adds to the trip. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with a view. We feel this is a good way to check areas out and you dont have to worry about driving or grabbing a taxi or Uber. With the purchase of the ticket, you also receive a complimentary return ticket on the star ferry.

Half of the machines you plugged the air plugs in to didn’t work so could not hear commentary. Was raining and water was running down the floor on the upstairs level of the bus. Could do with wipers on the big window upstairs as it was very difficult to see out. Not a great experience and expensive

We booked the tour online and booked for 2 days. Worked out we would do the blue and green tours the first day, then the red tour the next day due to the weather being possibly better. We were staying in Kowloon so happy with the 2 day tour as it included tickets on the star ferry for 2 days. We found where we meant to be first up, and the girl saw us coming, she waved us down, we explained we had accidentally activated the tickets on the notepad so had to bring that too. She printed out the tickets we needed for the ferry and the tram. Only needed to show the driver the notepad when hopping on the bus. Everytime we got close to a stop there were people waving you down or to point you in the right direction, what a fantastic service, they were all so nice. Definitely reccomend this to anyone wanting to explore the city and don't know anything about it. So informative, even tho it was raining, was still good with offers of rain ponchos.

Excellent English commentary, good information and added humour. Did the three routes and not hopped off. Great way to get a comprehensive overview of city. Loved it. Top story of bus with good hat and sun protection I caught a breeze and saw everything and you feel immersed in the city.

This is the path of least resistance. If you have done no research on what to see and can’t be bothered with taxis or public busses this is an easy way to see the city, and the informational commentary was great. However for a minimal investment in effort to ID what you want to see, you could even uber it everywhere you wanted for a fraction of the cost of this ticket. Also keep in mind the bus only comes by every 45 minutes if that so you really have to time things carefully otherwise you’re stuck waiting in the sweltering heat for ages killing limited time as we were. This was downside enough that i would skip this completely in favor of catching cabs or transport between sites and going at my own pace (let alone saving $$$) next time.

My family and I holidaying in Kowloon booked tickets for just the green line/ Stanley tour. This ticket included a return ticket on the star ferry to Hong Kong island. We loved seeing the other side of Hong Kong island, the greenery the beaches and the life style of the rich and famous. We hoped off and Stanley for lunch and Repulse Bay to see the beach. This ticketing system allows you to hop on and off when ever you like, with buses coming every 30 minutes.

Lovely sightseeing tour in HK. This tour has 3 routes - Red, Green and Blue routes. I suggest do the Red first, then Green and last the Blue route, or maybe will depend on which district you stay. I commend Mr. Ped, Filipino staff of Big Bus tour Hong Kong. We met Mr. Ped in Star Ferry Terminal just beside Harbour City mall, approachable, very helpful and professional. Thank you Mr Ped! I was told largest mall in world and got off bus but never found the mall. Hundreds os stores everywhere. Then got lost and could not find hop on hop off bus stop. More is a nightmare than a good experience. Sad. Only 1 day in Hong Kong.
