We took a great snowshoe ride with our guide Gustav, it was really great! The guide was on top, the view absolutely amazing and the barbecue delicious, with plenty of good things to enjoy. An unforgettable experience! ❄️🔥
They canceled on us last minute. We didn’t get notified until we showed up and they told us there was no guide. We never saw the cancellation on our end and I still haven’t received one. The company offered no compensation.
Viator bookings are paid one or two months afterwards so we can't refund anything in our shop. Viator will refund cancelled bookings. Human sicknessa and such is always possible and in peak season it is not easy to assign a new guide. Full refund is coming from Viator.
A calamity. No staff to receive us and direct us, wait more than 45 minutes to tell us from the boss that everything is late in Lapland. He's messing with us. The employee who arrives tells us himself that there is no organization and that he leaves the agency. We are told after 1h15 that there is no vehicle to take us to the forest at the moment. We request a full refund immediately. To ban this agency. Lack of consideration of customers and should not even exercise.
Guides do a good job but organisation is poor. Changes in timing of activities are not advised in advance, we had some start hours later than we were advised and others an hour or two early. The activities are good, although they are sometimes hampered by poor or wrong equipment being supplied. Guides do a good job to make things work as well as possible.
Guides choose their equipment themselves. In peak season if some other guests come late then all people are late. Being late a little shouldn't be a big problem. It is just life.
Great experience ! It was very fun to explore the forest with snowshoes and the barbecue was huge and excellent. I highly recommend it. I particularly thank our guide, Utsav, for this moment :)
A beautiful morning with snowshoes in the snow. We booked directly from their website. The operator picked us up from the hotel, and then provided us with snowshoe equipment. Very small group. The guide was very kind and experienced in guiding us. Halfway stop for an hour in a large tent where we ate abundantly typical food cooked on the bonfire. A beautiful day, definitely recommended.
Transfer from the hotel, organization and staff were great organized us very friendly. We felt in good hands. Thank you to Mary.
My partner and I chose Lapland Welcome for two excursions while we were in Rovaneimi in early March 2019. The first one was a short reindeer sleigh ride, and the second one was this one (snowshoe trip in the forest). I reviewed the reindeer excursion and then had to wait 3 months to review this other excursion (tripadvisor doesn't allow us to review the same place twice in less than 3 months). The snowshoe trip in the forest was great! My partner and I were again the only guests on this tour so it felt like a private tour again (may not be the same for others depending on time of year and luck). We met with our tour guide, Kira Rokx, at the Lapland Welcome office, and we drove to the starting location of the snowshoe excursion. It was actually really good conditions for snowshoeing. The top of the snow on the ground was kind of hard and crunchy on top of a thick layer of fluffy snow below; and it was sunny outside. During the snowshoeing, Kira would tell us about the different animal tracks in the snow, areas around the base of trees where reindeer have been foraging, and the different vegetation that reindeer like/need to eat that can be seen in the forest. We had a break at a large teepee tent, which had a firepit on the inside to make food such as sausages, hot chocolate/coffee, etc. We also saw some local Finns in the area (but not many) enjoying the outdoors. One man stopped to say hello to us and we talked for a little bit. It was a very lovely excursion and we definitely got our exercise in :)
