We organized a private Underworld Experience tour with Roger for a company team event, and it was one of the most memorable city tours any of us has ever done! Even though I personally grew up in Chinatown, Roger's personal stories and thorough research (he is a 7-time Emmy award winning news producer!) shed light on the community in a way that was very memorable and educational. I can't recommend the tour highly enough, and can't wait to partake in the other experiences they offer too!

The Legacy Tour was AMAZING! It was great to get a deep dive into the Chinatown Underground from someone who experienced it first hand. Extremely knowledgable as well as entertaining. Great time!!

I took the underworld tour of chinatown with some friends, and it was above and beyond. It lasted about 2 hours and our guide went into details about the histories of China and The United States Immigration policies, and how that contributed to the history of New York Chinatown, but also personal stories related to crime gangs in the 70s and 80s. it was riveting and very informative.

I had such an amazing time at the chinatown tour! I learned so much about the gang culture and the overall history embedded in chinatown’s history which i would’ve never learned otherwise. It was also so insane to get a first hand account of some of those events too. Our tour guide Roger was also nothing short of an incredible. He shared so many fascinating stories and was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. 10/10 experience and i would recommend to NY natives and tourists alike!

We had an incredible experience with Chinatown Legacy Tours! We signed up for the Underworld Tour on a day that ended up being incredibly hot and sunny, but Roger came prepared with bottles of ice-cold water in hand when we arrived. Pretty soon after, we were so engrossed with the history and his lived experience with each site that we forgot about the heat! Toward the end of the tour we even got to meet a local former gang member and hear directly about his experiences, too. Both were great storytellers and Roger, a great historian, too. We're eager to explore more with CLT!

One of the highlights was meeting a former member of the Flying Dragons gang from the 1980s and 1990s, whose firsthand stories added a unique and unforgettable perspective to the tour. Roger is personable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history he shares. His personal connection to Chinatown, combined with his deep knowledge of the neighborhood, made the experience feel authentic and immersive from start to finish. Chinatown legacy tour, was definitely one of the best tours I've ever been on, if not the best! I knew a lot of the history before because I am fascinated by it, but to go around the actual streets and hear first hand stories from Roger and Michael, and also to meet Woody, so interesting and exciting, it made me feel like I was back in the 70's and 80's when all the gangs were still active. Gave me goosebumps. I loved every minute of it. Couldn't have asked for better hosts. This made my holiday to NYC! You have a fan for life! Highly recommend to anyone interested in Chinatown Manhattan and the history of it, and if you enjoy history and tours in general, I can guarantee you'll enjoy this one, worth every penny, I was so immersed in it all I even forgot to take pic's lol. The Chinatown Legacy Tours experience is absolutely fabulous. Bernice is so knowledgeable about the area and makes the whole experience incredibly immersive. I participated in the Underworld tour, and we were even able to talk to a former gang member as part of it -- this made the history feel so real and intertwined with the present. Would strongly recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about Chinatown and its past!

We really had an amazing tour with Chinatown Legacy Tours. I am a lifelong New Yorker, and spent quite a bit of time in Chinatown over the years. There is a massive amount of history and experience that is hidden behind the shops and restaurants - this tour touched on many of these areas. I actually took a few hours that night to read through some of the other resources out there; they did a great job inspiring me to dig deeper into the material. We appreciated Bernice's knowledge - she really brought a personal and authentic feel to the tour; these folks actually *lived* through these experiences, and that added so much depth to the stories. I fully recommend Chinatown Legacy Tours to any visitor or any NY local. I'll never look at Chinatown the same again!
