We went to this Higashiyama location as it was in the Higashi Chaya district that we wanted to visit as well. The gold leaf experience/activity is well worth the 1 hour. We reserved the 1st appointment in the morning which was great as the town was pretty empty if you are looking for photo ops. The cost depends on what you want to keep/purchase to put the gold leaf decoration. It was not as difficult as I first imagined with hands on instructor. Not only do you gain the experience, but you also leave with a beautiful souvenir.
