I had one of my greatest travelling experiences by joining with a great group of friends the
Greek Revolution tour in Peloponnese on June 15-17. Our host, Major General (retired) Panagiotis Gartzonikas, provided outstanding briefings, battle detailed descriptions, with map illustrations, and military operation strategies. It was a full 3-day trip walking though the battlefields at Dervenakia, Tripolis, Nafplio, Pylos, and Navarino Bay, some of the most beautiful landscapes of Peloponnese. The place however that none of us will ever forget is Sfacteria, a deserted island, across the Navarino bay. Although it took us a while to reach the top, going through some rough, narrow, gravel paths under the heat, the reward when reaching the top was exceptional. The view from the top was breathtaking, and overall, a lifetime experience. We stayed for a while at the top admiring the unbelievable landscape around the island, but also being briefed by Panagiotis on the battles, and history of the island. During our 3-day tour we had great fun enjoying local food at different villages, but also experienced wine tasting in Nemea, at one of the most prominent wineries in the region. An amazing experience, highly recommended to anyone looking for something different than a regular tour. Off to the next one soon……

I challenge everyone to make these kind of trips..
A big thank you to the tour organisers and to General Panayiotis for teaching us more about Greek history and the Greek Revolution in three days than all the years at school! The tour was educational, emotional and fun. Highly recommended.

An Unforgettable Greek Revolution Tour
A fantastic tour and a wonderful experience from start to finish! The guide (a retired Greek army General!) was extremely knowledgeable and made the history of the Greek Revolution come alive. The coach was very comfortable, the scenery was stunning, and the wine tour was a great addition. The accommodations were also excellent. Everything was well organized, informative, and enjoyable. I highly recommend Hellenic Battlefield Tours to anyone interested in Greek history and culture.

Amazing tour!
I just finished a Greek Revolution tour in Pelloponisos. We visited Dervenakia, Tripolis, Nafplio, Pylos, Sfaktiria, Navaroni Bay. The tour was absolutely amazing, very informative, explaining all details and hearing untold stories, with maps and visuals. General Panayiotis was outstanding and his knowledge is admirable. All sites we visited were worth it , the highlight for me was the climb in Sfakteria, and standing on the same spot that Spartans surrendered for the first time in history! Epic! I will recommend it to all friends, worth it 100%. Thanks a lot for the experience!
