We recently visited The Escape Company and completed the Knights of Norwich room. From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the gentleman who looked after us, but he was lovely — friendly, welcoming and genuinely enthusiastic. The service really was second to none and deserves a special mention. As for Knights of Norwich itself, we enjoyed the experience and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the room. Everything worked as it should, the theme was fun and we had a good time completing it. For us personally, though, the room felt a little basic compared with some of the other escape rooms we’ve completed. We’ve done quite a few now, and tend to really enjoy rooms with more layers, unexpected moments, varied puzzle mechanics and those clever little surprises that make you stop and think, “How did they do that?” Knights of Norwich was a little more straightforward than that. That certainly doesn’t make it a bad room — in fact, for people newer to escape rooms or those who prefer something that isn’t overly complicated, I think it could be a great choice. For experienced players looking for something particularly immersive or challenging, it may feel a little on the simpler side. Would we personally return? Probably not, simply because we tend to look for more complex and immersive rooms now. But that’s very much down to our own preference and experience rather than anything being wrong with The Escape Company. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience, and the outstanding service was definitely the highlight. Huge compliments to the gentleman who looked after us — he was excellent.
