Incredible Tour of the Forest with Excellent Guide
Incredible tour. Miguel is an excellent guide. He knows where to find everything, focus in on it quickly with the spotting scope and is very knowledgeable on all the animal and plant species you see in the forest. Even though we came at the low season for spotting certain species, Miguel managed to find everything we wanted to see and even completely unexpected species that were an incredible surprise. Without a guide we wouldn't have been able to see anything in the dense green of the forest. Whether day or night tour, we highly recommend the tour with Miguel.

Explore Monteverde Rainforest with Miguel Alvarado
On a trip to Monteverde in Costa Rica, we had the rainforest on the agenda. We met Miguel Alvarado, guide extraordinaire, who took us for both a night walk at El Enigma de La Semila and a day walk through Curi Cancha Reserve.
Each was phenomenal - and it was a treat to experience the rainforest through the rainy night, where every sound felt magnified and surreal, and through the day where you felt the sun peeping through the trees, and sounds of birds and occasional monkeys made you connected with nature.
Miguel was great! He was extremely knowledgeable about plant, insect and animal species, and carried his telescope everywhere for us to see the extraordinary species! We learned about ficus trees, saw scorpions at night through his ultra violet flashlight, a sleeping toucan and glass frogs; during the day he helped us spot capuchin monkeys, the fairytale bell bird, and we marveled at the quetzal high above the trees! Between the towering trees, gentle waterfalls, giant blue butterflies, busy hummingbirds and bumbling agoutis, our day was packed and brimming with wonder.
What makes Miguel stand out is his true curiosity and admiration for the rainforest, and his deep connection with sustainability of Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity. I strongly recommend him - and you will have a great and informative adventure!
