Our guide, Peter met us promptly at our accommodation and we started off visiting the Tanzanite Experience which was very informative. Next, we visited the Masai market where we saw the locals shop for their daily groceries. After, we stopped by at an African art gallery offering many beautiful handicrafts and souvenirs where we could picked some gifts. The highlight of the day was visiting the Masai Village and meeting the residents and little children there. We were also entertained to some Masai singing and dancing during the visit. Overall, it was a very interesting day and the weather was great!

I travelled from Vancouver canada and booked the tour on viator as a solo traveler. I felt safe the entire tour. We saw arusha city, market, visited a tanzanite store, watching a video, clock tower marking the middle of africa, then we drove out to the maasai village. The drive the the village was 45 mins or so but you get to see the African life in its true state as we drove. I really enjoyed watching the cars, tuk tuk, people, livestock as we drove. The landscape changed quite a bit along the drive too which was cool to see. The village was very heart warming and welcoming. We saw inside their homes, were dressed up in traditional clothing, i joined the ladies in the welcome dance, the young boys started a fire with a stick and donkey poo, the boys demonstrated their traditional dance. It was every thing i wanted to see.

I only did the Masai tour with Denish Aoko with Aoko Tours. It was one of the hi-lights of my 25 day Africa adventure. I met the chief and many members of the Masai community. We sat inside their hut, drank tea, and talked for a long time. They shared their customs and lifestyle. We built a fire by friction, practiced with a Masai spear, toured their boma, and saw their livestock herd. Words and pictures cannot do the experience justice. A must do experience if you want to learn about the Masai.

Praylord is a good guy. The spice market and women's market were very interesting & atmospheric! The Maasai Village is a MUST go. The Maasai culture is very patriarchal. The boma we were all built by women. We walked around the village, spoke a little to the women, and visited 2 of the huts; very small & smoked filled places. Praylord explained everything well to us. It was a very interesting visit but I wish that something more can be done for the Maasai women and children, none of whom go to school.

This tour went far beyond our expectations. Not only did we learn about the mining of tanzanite and get guided into the depths of the local market to meet vendors such as Mr. Spice,, we were escorted to our guides' Masai village home to meet their family and learn all about their Masai life and traditions. We danced with the women in the welcoming ceremony, we jumped with the warriors during their dance and jumping competition, and had storytime and Q&A under a tree with our guides. What a fabulous day. If you are interested in learning about the Masai culture from true locals, this tour cannot be missed.

Wow! This was an incredible experience, and I definitely recommend this tour if you want to truly experience Tanzanian culture and daily life. The guides were accommodating, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all our questions. We enjoyed visiting the market and the village where we were able to meet the guides’ family and take part in dancing.

This tour went above and beyond our expectations. Our guides showed us the authentic Tanzania, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt safe the entire time. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to visit the local market and the family’s village. 10/10 recommend booking this tour.

This is a fantastic way to end the trip or start your trip to Tanzania. It was our first day after we arrived in the new country that we had never been to before. Naima was welcoming and picking up from our hotel and we went to Arusha downtown and we visited the central food market for a short tour, and then I come to know why people make this tour to be a top rated in Arusha, Is very local market and you get to meet the true friendly Tanzanians. Our best part was the kitchen part we went with our best instructor that led us for the whole class from start to finish. This is absolutely a must do experience in Tanzania. Highly recommend.
