I had an incredible day exploring the beautiful western side of Madeira with my guide, Antonio. This tour was the perfect combination of hiking, breathtaking viewpoints, charming coastal villages, and some of the island’s most spectacular scenery. We started off in the fisherman village of Câmara de Lobos where I tried Poncha for the first time. We then went for a hike on the Levada do Moinho – Levada Nova trail, which was a wonderful way to experience Madeira’s lush landscapes up close. From there, Antonio took me to Cascata dos Anjos, Ponta do Sol, Jardim do Mar, and Paul do Mar, each offering something completely different and beautiful. The views continued at Miradouro Vereda dos Zimbreiros, Lighthouse Ponta do Pargo, and Miradouro da Garganta Funda. Every stop gave me another incredible perspective of Madeira’s coastline and dramatic cliffs. Antonio was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about Madeira. He shared interesting information about the island while also making the day feel relaxed and personal. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated having a guide who made me feel comfortable and made the experience feel more like exploring the island with a local than simply taking a tour. This was an unforgettable day and a fantastic way to see parts of Madeira that I might not have discovered on my own. I highly recommend this tour and Antonio to anyone wanting to experience the beauty, scenery, and character of Madeira!
