You certainly wouldn't do that alone. The area is authentic, and thus also conveys a feeling of danger. With the guide, you feel safe. We found him to be extremely dedicated. The only negative: tasting cachaças from plastic cups while the intense smell rises into your nose... We would have liked to have stood somewhere else.
The experience was really nice and the tour guides made everyone feel welcome. I would recommend it to anyone traveling as a group or solo. However, I do think it is geared more towards the younger crowd from the bars that we attended towards the end of the night.
The tour was excellent, I made amazing friends that I want to carry for the rest of my life. Andressa is extremely friendly, attentive and super professional. Light and welcoming experience. I highly recommend!

A very pleasant night. Everything very well organized. The drinks were great and all the night homes we went to were nice. A charm just the outside of the tour by the Lapa Arcs and the famous staircase.
