Your polished response does not match what actually happened, and your claim that the guide contacted another operator is false.
When conditions became dangerous, I directly asked your guide whether he could call someone to help us. His exact response was, “That’s a good question.” He did not tell us that he had contacted anyone, that a contingency plan had been activated, or that a rescue boat was coming. In fact, the other operator stopped only because members of our group waved them down—not because your guide had arranged our rescue.
At that point, your guide was behind the group with me because my 13-year-old son was physically exhausted from battling the high winds. Your guide did not direct the rescue, communicate with the boat, or demonstrate that any emergency procedure was being followed.
If you are now claiming that your guide arranged the rescue, then provide the name of the operator he contacted, the time the call or message was made, and the corresponding communication record. Your statement should be easy to verify. It also does not explain why no High Desert Paddle Co. representative was present at the boat launch when another company brought your customers and guide back safely.
Mentioning that other tours returned safely is irrelevant. Your company was specifically asked about the weather before departure, and we were told there was nothing to worry about. You then sent a group of nine—including a 13-year-old child—onto the water without an emergency plan that was visible, communicated, or effectively carried out.
The issue is not that we were disappointed about receiving a boat ride. The issue is that we were placed in danger, your guide appeared unprepared, another group had to flag down help, and your representatives left the launch without confirming that everyone had returned safely. Attempting to rewrite those events instead of accepting responsibility only makes your company’s conduct more concerning.
I am again demanding a full refund for all nine members of our group. I also believe this incident—and your company’s conflicting account of it—should be reviewed by the appropriate agencies responsible for commercial tour operations and public safety.

No-show
No-show so sad. I was looking so forward to this kayaking tour. Call and text several times no answer or reply back.

Wonderful experience
My 14 yr old son and I booked this excursion for our annual mom/son trip over Spring Break and we had an amazing day! Sunny was our tour guide and she was a delight! She was full of information about our surroundings and even took several pictures of us with her camera to send to us. Having a guide was the absolute best experience. I was relaxed and didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everyone working with this company is so nice and wants their customers to have a great experience. I would definitely book this again!

Antelope Canyon kayak and Hike
I live very far away and booked this guided tour and when i showed up a girl in a hammock said no more tours were scheduled. That mine had been canceled but when I looked it had been cancelled an hour before I was to be there. I had already traveled there so that was not enough of a cancellation time. Had I cancelled an hour before I would have been charged the full amount with that short of notice. I feel like I deserved more than my refund for the fact I traveled all the way there. I would never book with this company again and I wouldn’t suggest anyone else to book with them.

We want to begin with a sincere apology.
Your booking through Viator/TripAdvisor did not reach us in time, and because of that, we missed the chance to show up for you the way we should have. That responsibility is ours alone.
We’ve since taken a deep look at our system, found where the disconnect happened, and made the necessary corrections so this doesn’t happen again. Your experience brought something important to light, and we are truly grateful you let us know.
Still, we know that doesn’t give you back your time—or the experience you were looking forward to.
Please know how deeply sorry we are for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. That’s never the energy we want tied to your time here.
If you’re open to it, we would love the chance to welcome you back properly. Reach out to us directly, and we’ll offer you a special rate on any of our tours—an open invitation to experience the canyon the way it was meant to be.
Thank you again for your patience, your understanding, and for helping us grow.
With appreciation,
High Desert Paddle Co.

Plans ruined!
This was a horrible experience. Do not purchase from High Desert Paddle company through Viator. My husband and I flew from Texas to LV, rented a car, drove to Page , AZ 4.5 hrs. Never received a phone call/text nor email and when we arrived we were told by other companies at the marina that High Desert Paddle was a no show and other arriving customers were told the same. We were told they no showed due to a storm, however, there was no storm and all other tour operators were operating. We followed all of the email instructions we had received, showed up and were greatly disappointed. When I called Viator customer service because High Desert Paddle did not answer, this was the”best” they could do “
We are currently reviewing the details of your booking and have shared the relevant information with the tour operator.
If you have any additional documentation or details related to your request, please feel free to respond directly to this email so we can include it in our review process.
We appreciate your patience as we work towards a resolution and will keep you updated along the way”
Thankfully Dixie’s Lower Antelope was able to accommodate us for a lower Antelope tour but no kayaking.
