I really enjoyed the full day. It was informative with a lovely pace. The guide (Daiga) was excellent. She was clearly very knowledgeable about the history / geography / heritage of the areas in question. She was also very warm and patient. The visit to the bakery was a highlight (amongst many) for me. The food / coffee stops were also well selected (Good value and tasty). The transport was excellent. I have travelled extensively over 30 + years and I have to say that Barefoot Baltic is a fantastic choice. The Riga Balsam and delicious fudge was the icing on the cake for me. I`ll be back for much more. Thank you!!!! Bobby McCormack

Speltastic!
We had a truly mystical day, castle hunting, sight seeing and bread tasting in the layered historical land surrounding Riga.
Our tour guide Daiga, from Barefoot Baltic, is a local treasure. She's full of energy and a vibrant willingness to share her authentic knowledge of the local history, mythology and cuisine. There was a soft rain falling and a mist rising throughout the day but nothing dampened the spirit of our guide as she motivated us to climb the final medieval tower on our tour to witness the extraordinary beauty of the vista that unfolded.
Slainte 👍 Mog and Bobby from Ireland.

A must do!
We had a wonderful day tour with Daiga and our driver, Evgeny (I hope I’m spelling his name correctly!), visiting Sigulda, Cēsis, and Gauja National Park.
Evgeny was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the day. He helped us in and out of the van at every stop and always made sure to open and close the doors for us and made us feel like VIPs.
Daiga was a fantastic guide. She took us to three different castles and shared the history behind each of them, along with lots of interesting information about Latvia and Riga more generally.
One of the highlights was stopping at a small local bakery for a bread tasting. We had the chance to try several different types of Latvian bread, including the famous dark rye bread, which was a really fun and authentic experience.
Toward the end of the tour, we also visited a beautiful outdoor sculpture park, where Daiga even taught us a traditional Latvian folk dance. It was such a memorable and unexpected way to finish the day.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would absolutely book another tour with Daiga the next time I visit Latvia. I highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Riga who wants to get out of the city for a day and experience more of Latvia’s history, culture, and beautiful countryside.
