Very cool, old rock carvings with some history
The Beishan and Dazu rock carvings are pretty incredible considering their ages and locations. It always amazes me thinking about things like this being done by hand, especially on such a large scale! Many are very well preserved, including some old paint. This tour also included a trip to Ciqikou, which was a collection of mostly tourist shops, but housed along old streets in a smaller village. However, we really just walked through- there was no stopping to shop or buy any of the food. I am not certain that going to Ciqikou added anything to the experience since we just walked through so quickly... This tour didn't include a lunch break, so it was a really long day! I was starving by the time I got dropped back off at my hotel.
