Our Harajuka and Meiji shrine Cultural walking tour was a fantastic introduction to Tokyo. Our guide, Alex, is a very personable young man, - easy to talk to and very genuine - and our time walking around felt more like walking around with an old friend than a planned tour. A brilliant tour to experience not only the hustle and bustle of modern Japan (Takeshita street) but also the quiet and serene Meiji Jingu and surrounding forest. Alex’s knowledge of both the history and cultural values of Japan were quite insightful and have given us a better understanding of the Japanese way of life.

Amazing experience with Alex
We had a fantastic experience with Alex! Alex was incredibly knowledgeable, warm and flexible, and really took the time to get to know our family and cater to our interests. Nothing felt rushed or rigid, and Alex’s genuine enthusiasm for Japan’s culture made the tour both enjoyable and memorable. We would highly recommend Alex.

Harajuku & Meiji Jingu walking tour
A great tour contrasting the quiet green forest and Shinto shrine with the hustle and bustle of nearby Harajuku.
Alex is warm, personable, helpful and informative. It was interesting to hear his background story and passion for Japan.

Welcome to Japan Harajuku walk
We had a fantastic walk with Alex through the serene Meiji shrine which was a pleasant reprieve in busy Tokyo. We followed that with a walk through Harajuku which was heaps of fun. Alex is very easy to chat to and we liked his outlook on Japanese culture and spirituality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highly recommend the Harajuka tour!
My girlfriend and I joined the Harajuku walking tour with Welcome to Japan and had a fantastic time. Alex was passionate, enthusiastic, and genuinely engaging throughout. You could really feel his love for Japan and the way he shared his story made the tour feel personal as well as informative. We learned a lot, saw some really interesting sights, and came away with a much better understanding of the area than we would have on our own. It was a fun, educational experience and excellent value for money. Highly recommend!!
