This tour is an absolute must for anyone, who like me, is visiting Marrakesh for the first time. I was lucky enough to have Tahar to myself for this tour so I inundated him with questions throughout our walk through the city and places of interest. Tahar was informative, engaging and full of local and national knowledge. Not only that he has a great sense of humour and we were laughing for most of the morning. We visited Bahia palace and Madrasa Ben Yousef college before walking through the narrow soukes taking in the sights and smells of the metal work, leather and spices. There were a couple of things I wanted to buy and Tahar gave me a lesson in haggling with the local traders who were more than happy with this. We finished off with Tahar showing me one of the very popular food places where whole lambs are cooked underground which was somewhere I wanted to try so I stayed and had lunch there with some traditional mint tea. An absolutely fantastic morning with an amazing guide that has given me the knowledge and confidence to explore more of the sights here in Marrakesh.

Tahar was an excellent guide - warm, friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and humorous! He took us round the Bahia Palace, exciting our students with the history and stories of the place, then led us through the medina giving us further understanding, including an excellent natural pharmacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, with students praising his humour and historical knowledge. Thank you Tahar!

Tahar offers a tour that is rich with information. We began at the Medrese ben Yusuf. He seemed intent on teaching my daughter abolutions, although we are not Muslim. We spent a good amount of time there. Then we went to Bahia Palace. He didn't know that the tour included 30 minutes in the mellah until I reminded him. He said it was only a pass by. But he gave us a good tour of the mellah and gave detail about Jewish history and Morocco. We never made it to the mosque and had very little time in the souk. I'm not entirely sure why the time wasn't better managed. But that being said, he is a font of information and very willing to share it and clearly passionate about people, knowing Moroccan history and Morocco as a place where minorities were respected.

Tahar was a wonderful guide and I could not recommend this tour more highly! He is incredibly knowledgable and took time to thoroughly explain not just the significance of historic places, but gave us insight into cultural norms. We joined Tahar’s tour on our first day and I’m so grateful that we did! After the tour we felt much more comfortable navigating the souks alone and that’s all thanks to Tahar. (He also happens to be a fantastic photographer and we joked that he should highlight that so I’m doing it for him.)
