Nice little zoo. We like all the exotic animals
Animals looked extremely depressed Poor guidance and staff as well communication. If anyone is looking for a zoo Sacramento has plenty of years to wash their plate before dishing incredible things to its guest. I believe they’re are better zoos that exist. I also believe in zoo keepers knowing they’re animals as well. Kinda unbelievable but expected 2026.
This is a well loved zoo in a mid sized city. All the animals look well cared for. A family friend space with a little train, some newer VR experience enhancement booths, even a dinosaur display complete with simulated sounds and movements to show how life would have looked back in the day. Overall,
Super fun. Zoo is organized in a way so you don't miss viewing any animals. Animotronic dinosaurs were there too. Which made our visit more special.
I was really disappointed with the Sacramento Zoo. Many of the enclosures felt small and outdated, and several animals seemed stressed or bored. The signage was sparse, making it hard to learn anything meaningful about the animals, and a lot of the paths and exhibits felt run-down. Staff were polite but didn’t offer much information or engagement. For the price of admission, I expected a much more educational and enjoyable experience. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it unless they seriously improve the facilities and overall visitor experience
Small zoo that’s a quick walk-around. The zoo closed at 5pm on the afternoon we visited. A lot of the animals were pacing near their gates waiting to get locked in for the night when we were there from 3pm-5pm, so go earlier in the day if you can.
