Our driver Rendy was a good, safe driver with good car. There were no clear skies so no lava flow to see. I thought if we paid more for the tour the snacks etc would be better than cheap tour. It is all the same whether you pay little or more (like this tour). Snacks were fried bananas & tempe & ginger teabag. Not very interesting or appealing. Check sky activity via Merapi webcam & make an informed decision whether to do this. If it were clear & not overcast you might see something.

Didn’t get to see the lava due to cloudy weather but still had a lot of fun. My driver, Fadir picked me up at the given time and I was joined by another couple of travellers. At the lava viewing point we were given fried bananas and hot tea/coffee as well as blankets to keep warm as it cooled down quite a bit at night. I would do it again just check the weather forecast beforehand haha.
