Brilliant! Loved the personal experience rather than the over crowed rushed ones!
Even though we booked from another part of the island ussey contacted us and arranged pick up. We had been travelling for weeks and it was an our first day in Zanzibar. The private trip was great. Ussey was a history teacher by profession, and very knowledgeable. Time wasnt rushed. Alot of the other trips had boats cramped with people, a private boat was included on this trip. Lunch was incredible! The whole trip was relaxed. Pointers for anyone booking: Have your swim wear on as there is no where to change on the beach (although ussey was great and tried to think of suggestions) Make sure you bring cash for tips (boat etc) we thought we would get to a cash machine before hand but there isnt many! Lunch is fresh seafood. Suncream! Would recommend 100% Thanks for the trip ❤️

Amazing guide, Top Zanzibar sites
Ussey was an amazing guide. His knowledge of the culture and island was unmatched and a nice change from guides who just take you around to see the sights he was engaged with us and we felt safe with him as two female travelers. He chatted with us but also gave more than enough time and space to enjoy the day. He arranged all our transports by boat and by taxi as we were quite far out of the pickup zone and got us to and from hotel. We saw a lot in this tour and felt like we got a good taste to start our Zanzibar trip off with major sites. He was efficient and prompt with chatting with us via WhatsApp, would absolutely book with him again and cannot recommend him more for experiences when visiting. Make sure to wear swimsuit to Nakupenda beach as there is no where to change there and it’s so lovely you will want to get in the water and have plenty of time to swim around and enjoy. Also make sure to bring some cash for beachside drinks and tips, no cards accepted. We were rookies and didn’t plan ahead !

Ussey made our Zanzibar trip unforgettable
Ussey was an exceptional tour guide, and I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
I actually reached out to him on WhatsApp before I even arrived in Zanzibar, and from the very beginning, he was enthusiastic, responsive, and offered a very competitive price. Initially, I assumed that most tour guides would provide more or less the same experience, but after booking separate trips with several different guides during our stay, I quickly realized how much of a difference a great guide can make. Ussey truly stood out.
Born and raised in Zanzibar, Ussey is incredibly knowledgeable about the island. Whether it was the history, culture, local life, or the places we visited, there seemed to be nothing about Zanzibar that he didn’t know. He was always happy to answer our questions and made the experience much more meaningful than simply visiting the attractions.
One small detail that really impressed me was how respectful he was of our personal time. During some of our other tours, the guides would automatically sit down and have lunch with us. Ussey, on the other hand, gave us space to relax, enjoy our meal, and have some private time without ever making us feel rushed or disturbed. It may sound like a small thing, but it showed how thoughtful and professional he is.
He was also extremely flexible and allowed us to spend as much or as little time as we wanted at each activity. We never felt pressured to follow a rigid schedule. He is genuinely kind, patient, professional, and, most importantly, a man with integrity.
Our trip to Nakupenda Sandbank with Ussey was easily one of the highlights of our entire Zanzibar trip, and a large part of that was because of how much he added to the experience.
What impressed me even more was that his care did not end when the tour was over. He checked in with us during our stay and even afterward just to make sure we were enjoying our time in Zanzibar. It never felt like a business transaction, it genuinely felt like it came from the heart.
If you are looking for a tour guide for any activity in Zanzibar, I cannot recommend Ussey enough. After experiencing tours with several different guides, I can confidently say that Ussey is someone I would choose again without hesitation.
