Henrietta is an excellent guide. She explained the history, culture of Georgia, etc., to us very professionally. This was a very pleasant trip.
This was honestly one of the biggest disappointments of our entire trip to Georgia. We wasted a full day sitting in an uncomfortable bus, driving from one unnecessary stop to another, only to return to Tbilisi exhausted and frustrated, and wondering why we had booked this tour in the first place. The reaction of the other people on the bus pretty much said it all. When we finally returned to Tbilisi, everyone practically ran off the bus. Nobody was happy, and nobody even bothered to say goodbye. That should tell you something about how enjoyable this tour was. The tour was extremely poorly organized, rushed, and felt like one long attempt to get tourists to spend more money. Despite paying for the tour, almost nothing was actually included. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, also made the experience much worse. She was extremely rude, condescending, and, in our experience, prejudiced. Her attitude was completely inappropriate for someone whose job is supposed to make tourists feel welcome and help them enjoy their day. Here is how this terrible day went: 10 AM wine tasting: Who thought starting a wine tasting at 10 in the morning was a good idea? We had barely started the day and were already being given alcohol. We were also given a tiny amount of Georgian candy to try, which we personally didn't even enjoy. Bread and cheese stop: This was probably one of the most pointless stops of the entire tour. We were taken to a local bakery and shown how bread is made. Honestly, if you are from almost anywhere other than the United States or the UK, watching someone make bread is hardly something you would consider a special tourist attraction. We spent valuable time traveling to a bakery just to stand there and watch bread being made. And, of course, the bread wasn't included. We had to pay 2 Lari just to try it. Then they put out a little cheese to taste and encouraged us to buy some because, apparently, we wouldn't be having lunch until 4 PM. The cheese cost 11 Lari. So instead of having a proper meal at a reasonable time, we were basically encouraged to buy bread and cheese to keep ourselves from starving. Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino: This was probably the only stop we genuinely enjoyed. The monastery was nice to see, although unfortunately it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the day. Sighnaghi: Another major disappointment. We were told we would visit Sighnaghi, but the bus didn't actually take us around the city. We could either walk around ourselves or pay another 20 Lari per person for a golf cart. Since we didn't know the area, we chose the golf cart and once again had to pay extra for something that felt like it should have been properly organized as part of the tour. On top of that, there was nothing worthwhile to see or do in Sighnaghi. Telavi: Calling this a "stop" is honestly misleading. We drove for a very long time just to end up at a restaurant. By the time we arrived, it was around 4 PM, and we still hadn't had lunch. And then it somehow got even worse. Instead of finally feeding everyone who had been waiting all day, they made us do another wine tasting before lunch. Four glasses of wine, one after another, on an empty stomach, before we were even given food. My mom and several other people in our group became extremely dizzy and sick. The wine itself wasn't necessarily bad, but giving people four glasses of wine in rapid succession after they had gone most of the day without a proper meal was, in our experience, completely irresponsible and very poorly organized. Wine tasting should be something you can actually enjoy—not something you're rushed through while you're hungry and waiting desperately for lunch. It would have made far more sense to serve the wine with the meal and allow everyone to drink at their own pace. And after all of that, Telavi was just completely unnecessary. We had driven all that way, eaten, and then immediately had to get back on the bus for another two-hour drive to Tbilisi. Lunch was not included. And even the journey back was poorly thought out. We made a stop for bathrooms, coffee, etc., which would normally be completely reasonable on such a long drive. But they stopped at a place where there was no running water and no functioning sink to wash your hands. Seriously? After using a public bathroom, there wasn't even a working sink to properly wash your hands. It's another small detail that perfectly sums up how little thought seemed to have gone into this tour. The language and entertainment were also incredibly frustrating The tour is conducted in both Russian and English, which meant we had to listen to everything twice throughout the day. This became extremely annoying, especially because the tour was already so long. Elizabeth talked way too much during the first half of the tour, going on and on while we were stuck on the bus. Then, in the second half, instead of having an enjoyable atmosphere, they played music in the car that was, quite honestly, terrible. The whole thing felt like nobody had stopped to think about what would actually make a group of tourists comfortable and entertained for an entire day. If you're going to offer a tour specifically in English and Russian, at least organize it in a way that doesn't make everyone listen to hours of duplicated commentary. Ideally, the tour should be catered to one language group at a time, or the company should at least find a much better way to handle the language issue. The tour description makes it sound like you are going to spend the day experiencing the beauty, culture, food, and wine of the region. In reality, we spent most of the day sitting on a bus, being rushed from place to place, paying extra for basic things, listening to hours of commentary in two languages, and waiting until 4 PM for lunch. This was not an enjoyable day. It was not relaxing. It did not feel worth the money. It felt like we had thrown an entire day of our vacation away. I wrote this review so others do not make the same mistake as we did - extremely disappointing.
Thank you Henrietta for an amazing experience!! Loved it!!
Best experience. Henrietta was our guide and she is amazing
Thank you very much, Henrietta, for the excellent tour; she told us about the history of Tbilisi and Telavi. We were interested in trying wine from a home winery and comparing it with a factory winery; this is exactly what we needed to compare and understand what real Georgian wine with Georgian hospitality is like! Thank you very much, your Maryana and Vitaliy!
Henrietta is very knowledgeable with wine, generous with sharing with us her knowledge, generous with the variety of wine for tasting. The food here is great too! Thank you from the bottom of our heart! Cheers!
Thank you for the wonderful trip! Henrietta is a brilliant guide and organizer. Everything was done at the highest level. We visited Kazbegi and Kakheti together and we will never forget this trip! Picturesque views, new historical and cultural knowledge and discoveries, exquisite Georgian wines and honey, brilliant cuisine, amenities on the road - everything was provided to us in abundance. Thank you to everyone who participated in giving us this unforgettable experience, we will definitely return to Georgia!❤️
Simply WONDERFUL! The tour guide was incredibly nice and personable. Your knowledge of the respective locations was very detailed. To enter the churches as a woman, a head covering is necessary, so please bring something along to remain respectful. Laris in Bar (25-45 per person) is also recommended to participate in the fullest experience. But all in all, a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to everyone coming to Georgia! Many, many thanks for the great day<3.
Hello everyone. I hope our experiences can help you. I traveled with my family in August 2026. Where do we start? The food and the wines?! Simply indescribable! We were at a small family winery that is now in its 4th generation. All the wines we tasted were homemade. The people there were able to answer all our questions, and nice conversations were held. The people in Geroriegen in general?! Nice and helpful. I would especially like to highlight the people who made this day possible for us. Our tour guide Henriette and the driver Deme. To sum it up briefly. We had a great time and will take advantage of this tour again.
We had an amazing experience on the Kakheti Wine Tour and Discover Monasteries, Vineyards & Telavi tour. My wife and I joined this tour from Tbilisi, and it was one of the highlights of our Georgia trip. The tour was very well organized, starting from Europe Square and covering some of the most beautiful and culturally important places in the Kakheti region. The itinerary had a perfect combination of wine, history, nature, and local traditions. Our first stop at Manavi was a great introduction to Georgian wine culture. The winery visit and degustation were enjoyable, and it was interesting to learn about Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions. The local flavors and hospitality made the experience special. The stop at Badiauri was another memorable moment, especially experiencing traditional Georgian bread-making and local products. It gave us a nice taste of authentic Georgian culture. Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The surroundings, views, and history of the monastery made it one of our favorite stops. Sighnaghi was also stunning — the charming streets, beautiful architecture, and incredible views of the Alazani Valley made it feel like a fairytale town. Walking along the Signagi City Walls was a unique experience with amazing photo opportunities. The visit to Telavi gave us another perspective of Kakheti, with its historic atmosphere and connection to Georgian culture and winemaking. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and made the whole journey enjoyable. The timing at each location was well planned, allowing us to explore without feeling rushed. Overall, this was a fantastic day trip that showed us the beauty, history, and hospitality of Georgia. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tbilisi who wants to discover Georgian wine, monasteries, vineyards, and traditional villages.
