Olive oil tasting at Maison d'Olive is a great value and an enjoyable, intimate learning experience. Soula, the Olive Oil Sommelier is engaging, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond: first explaining how to taste olive oil like the judges, the criteria they use, and what "counts" and what doesn't for the "extra" designation. We also learned the many ways olive oil is used in Greece now and throughout history. We also met Costa, the owner. He grows olives and presses them to create his original high polyphenolic oil for athletes. He also creates many flavors of essential oil infused olive oil. This experience opened our minds and palates to many new ways to enjoy olive oil! Thank you, Soula and Costa!

Such an amazing experience! Athens can feel very large and touristy, but tours like this make it feel more homey and local. Both the owner of the shop and the woman who did our tasting were so kind and helpful. The olive oil itself was delicious and as people who have a hard time distinguishing different flavors, their expertise was very helpful and made it easier for us to tell the difference between the flavors! We ended up choosing a few of the olive oils we tried and they are shipping them to our home in the US, so we don’t have to pack them! Overall, a great experience!
