I felt completely misled. The service I received did not match what I paid for or what was described in my booking. According to my Viator booking voucher, I paid for a service that included private transportation, sightseeing in Kandy and Ella, and a panoramic train journey in 2nd class. Before the trip, I was even asked to provide my passport number, supposedly so that the train ticket could be arranged in advance. However, when I arrived at the station, I realized that the ticket was only going to be purchased at that moment. Instead of the panoramic 2nd-class train journey stated in my booking, I was put in a regular carriage with a train ticket costing only 300 rupees. I also paid for private transfers: from Kandy, including sightseeing, to Nanu Oya railway station, and after the train journey I was supposed to continue the experience in Ella, again with sightseeing, followed by private transportation to my hotel. The reality was very different. Because of the way everything was organized, there was no longer enough time to do the sightseeing/tour in Ella that was included in my booking. On top of that, shortly before the train departed, I was asked to accept that my private transfer from Ella to the hotel would be replaced by a tuk-tuk. At that point, I was already in the middle of the journey and my luggage had been left in the car with the driver, so I did not feel I was really in a position to simply refuse this change. As a result, I received a completely different and clearly inferior form of transportation to the private transfer I had booked and paid for. When I arrived in Ella, everything appeared to have been arranged and I was not asked to pay anything extra. However, that does not change the main issue: I paid in advance for specific services and received something inferior to what was advertised and sold to me. The company’s customer support throughout this situation was also extremely frustrating. Whenever I tried to get help or clarification, they took a long time to respond, failed to answer several of my questions and, on some occasions, simply read my messages and did not reply. I find this experience completely unacceptable. These were not minor changes to the itinerary. There were significant differences between what was advertised in my booking and what was actually provided: the train type/class did not match what I had booked, part of my private transportation was replaced by a tuk-tuk, and the sightseeing in Ella was not provided at all. I feel that I paid for a premium service that I simply did not receive. My experience was one of poor transparency and a service that was substantially different from what I was sold. I strongly recommend booking with another company if you do not want to risk paying for one service and ending up receiving something completely different from what was advertised.

We had a fantastic experience traveling from Kandy to Ella with Amila. He was an excellent driver and made the entire journey incredibly easy and enjoyable. Amila arranged and purchased our train tickets in advance, which allowed us to have a wonderful experience taking the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. While we enjoyed the train ride, he took care of our luggage and drove it safely to Ella, where he met us and dropped us directly at our hotel. He was also very flexible throughout the journey. We wanted to make a few stops along the way, and he was happy to accommodate us and make the trip work around what we wanted to see and do. Everything felt very well organized without ever feeling rushed.

Had a really efficient and enjoyable experience with this tour, they kept me updated with all the trip details prior to the trip and it was a smooth experience and the scenic train ride to Ella was amazing, would definitely recommend to everyone!

We did this today with our driver Akram and had a great experience. Akram showed us all the sites between Kandy and the train station. He ensured we got our ticket for the train and had us there early enough to get seats at the windows. He kept our bags in his car for ease. He then drove to Ella. He picked us up from the train station and drove us to our hotel. Akram was professional and helpful. I’d recommend this for anyone trying yo get from Kandy to Ella.

Ramzan was a great driver! Really patient and friendly, he pointed out bits of scenery, stopped for the waterfalls and was happy to accomodate requests for stops that we needed on the way. He even got us a red banana as a snack each that we hadnt tried before. The car was very comfy too. 10/10.

We had a great experience traveling with Samith from Kandy to Ambewela. He was very punctual and polite and really friendly and kind. He even arranged an infant seat for us so that our 11 month old son could safely enjoy the ride and all of that for a good price. We definitely recommend traveling with Samith!

On the way, the driver himself offered opportunities to stop at various sights, which was very nice. Thank you very much for that. The entire service was excellent! I recommend 100%!
