This was a perfect short day activity, where I was able to enhance my experience of Qibao Ancient Town through the insights of a dedicated tour guide as we wandered through the market and among the historic buildings. The highlights were the calligraphy workshop where we were introduced to Chinese script and allowed the opportunity to produce our own scroll. This was followed by a visit to the Buddhist temple complex and its offsite vegetarian restaurant. Ivy was an exceptional tour guide and absolutely accommodating to my interests.
Had a great day out with my guide Jenny. We travelled via metro with ease to the water town. Had a walking tour through the alleys of the town with Jenny explaining the history of the area. She is very knowledgeable about Shanghai and could answer all my questions. Highly recommend visitors taking this calligraphy class. The teacher is a true professional and was very patient with me who has never attempted this art form before. We went to the local temple where we were able to enter and climb the pagoda to the seventh level. Lunch at the temple cafe was excellent - the best noodles I have had during my time in China. For something a bit different from the usual Shanghai attractions, this tour is a fantastic way to spend the day.
