We booked the Fort Canning and Singapore River walking tour on a whim, and it was so worth it. Honestly, we would have missed so much of the history if we just walked it ourselves.
Our guide Mr Charles was super friendly and told great stories instead of just rattling off boring facts. Fort Canning has some beautiful hidden spots, and ending up by the river was a nice, scenic way to wrap up.
It does involve some stairs and walking in the heat, so definitely wear comfy shoes and bring water. Great value for money and a fun way to spend a morning!

an itinerary in the process of development
enthusiastic guide perhaps inexperienced in this itinerary as he had recourse to notes around the monuments and was more comfortable in the modern area of the city. he was keen to learn about our perspective and asked what we saw of interest when we paused to look at something. engaging as a guide. this did help us to link the old and new parts of the city together, rather than viewing them in isolation.
