Buyer beware if you are interested in catching fish or value safety. Inexperienced crew with questionable fishing and boating skills. For example they said chumming doesn’t work in CR. We pointed out black tuna fish and they said we don’t want to catch them because they put up a fight. My son wanted to because he was board just sitting there. We had to ask to hold a rod halfway through the outing. They also turned the boat parallel to the wake of a larger boat, almost flipping it. Why would you do that in such a small boat?
We’re sorry to hear the trip didn’t meet your expectations, but we do want to clarify a few important points. Our captain and mate have spent their entire lives fishing these waters, and safety is always our top priority. Chumming is not a common technique here, especially since most guests are targeting species like roosterfish, which we typically catch by trolling with live bait. While chumming can be used in certain situations, it’s not the standard method in our area. Regarding the black tuna, our understanding was that your group was interested in catching fish to eat, and that species is generally not targeted or requested. That said, if you had clearly asked to go after them, we would have been happy to try. As for the boat handling, we want to be very clear—we never position the boat parallel to incoming wakes. We had such a great morning out fishing! The crew set everything up and made it super easy for us. We caught a big croaker, jacks and snapper. I’m definitely booking again!
Noah and his co-captain were great and they took us out and provided everything, caught some nice fish.
