This was a great introduction to the Japanese matcha tea ceremony (Chado). The class was small (actually I was solo this time), and during the hour the instructor, Kana, carefully took me through how to prepare matcha in the traditional way. The demonstration is simplified, so while there are several steps to remember, it is still very approachable.
It’s a small studio, and the class took place at a western-style sit down table, so it is suitable for those who may have mobility issues that prevent them from sitting on tatami mats. Overall a wonderful class!

It was my first time making matcha myself!
The tea ceremony teacher explained things in an easy-to-understand way.
They have all the authentic tea utensils.
It was my first time making matcha myself, and it was fun.
I was surprised at the difference in taste between the matcha the teacher made at first and the matcha I made myself.
I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience an authentic tea ceremony.

The easy experience of Japanese tea ceremony
It’s a really nice experience!
I enjoyed the beautiful Japanese sweets and making Maccha by myself, which was quite easy and relaxing.

Great matcha tea!
We attended this tea ceremony class in English and had a great time.
The host was very kind and spoke very good English, so it was easy to communicate and understand the tea ceremony.
What I liked best was making my own tea using a bamboo tea whisk.
She also taught us how to clean the tea utensils, warm the tea bowl and drink the tea.
It was very authentic, but I thought everyone would enjoy it, because you could sit on a chair instead of on the floor.
