07:30にアディスアベバを出発。 アディスアベバから100キロを少し超えるところにあるデブレ・リバノスは、エチオピアの首都から日帰りで訪れるのに最高の場所のひとつです。 教会は記念碑的で外観はかなりひどいですが、ステンドグラスの窓は魅力的です。 デブレ・リバノスにはエチオピアでも有数の興味深い教会博物館がある。 通常の聖職礼拝品の他に、イタリアの銃、巨大な調理鍋、歴代の皇帝夫妻の王冠、楽器、古い木製の足枷などがある。 修道院から丘陵を15分登ったところには、修道院創設者テクラ・ハイマノットの洞窟があり、聖人はここですべての祈りを捧げたという。 デブレ・リバノスの有名な聖水の水源でもある。 最後に、青ナイル峡谷に位置するポルトガル橋へ。素晴らしい景色を眺めながら、チェラダ・ヒヒと呼ばれるエチオピア固有のヒヒを観察することができます。 また、エチオピアの様々な鳥を見つける機会もあります。

I had a great visit of Debre Libanos and Portuguese bridge with the Ethio Top Land Tour on 19 September 2025. The visit includes the Monastery of Debre Libanos, a stopover for Geladas Baboon, and visit of the portuguese bridge and the waterfall.

If you have an extra day in Addis and would like to get out of town, this is a great day trip to visit a historic monastery and take a short hike to visit the picturesque Portuguese Bridge. Ethio Top Land Tours did an excellent job – the guide Lamesgn and driver were both very professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to be around. A delicious traditional Ethiopian lunch was included as well. And the price they offered for this tour was much more economical than other providers I looked at (for the exact same itinerary). All in all I would definitely recommend this provider and this day tour.
