We always want our guests to learn about the turtles, the Marine Park and the places we visit, but without turning a relaxing boat trip into a long lecture. UPDATE: Since posting our original response, we have received a 5-star review from another guest who was on this exact same tour. For anyone considering this experience and wishing to read another perspective from the same trip, please see Collette’s review titled “Awesome trip, would recommend!!” posted on 20 September 2026. We feel it is only fair that future guests have the opportunity to read both experiences and make their own judgement. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that the tour did not quite hit the mark for you. At this time of the season, turtle sightings can sometimes be more difficult. We always try to avoid crowded situations and, most importantly, make sure the welfare of the turtles comes first. Anyone reading our previous reviews will see that this is something we take very seriously — we do not want to contribute to the problem. Unfortunately, this can sometimes leave the captain in a difficult position. Our only other negative review this season criticised us because the turtle surfaced briefly and the captain then moved away rather than remaining with it. We will always try to strike the right balance between giving our guests the experience they booked and behaving responsibly around the wildlife. Our captain does provide information throughout the trip, although he does not speak continuously as we deliberately try to create a relaxed atmosphere on board and allow guests to enjoy the scenery and surroundings. Regarding the snorkelling equipment, the captain has told us that he did offer equipment to the other couple, but they declined. We completely understand that you may not have noticed this while you were swimming. You are also absolutely right that the captain is extremely skilled at handling the boat, particularly around the caves and coastline. His experience and ability to position and manoeuvre the boat safely is precisely why guests should be able to relax and enjoy the trip without worrying about the boat itself. We are nevertheless genuinely disappointed that the experience was not what you had hoped for. We work extremely hard throughout the season to deliver the small-group, relaxed experience that we advertise and that the overwhelming majority of our guests enjoy.
