Yokohama Ramen Adventure Tour Akiko
Thank you so much for your warm hospitality yesterday.
Marutaka Seimen, with a 70-year history passed down through three generations, and the time spent cooking together at Akiko's home were special moments where I experienced human kindness.
At Marutaka Seimen, it begins with the precious experience of creating your own "My Noodle," followed by two carefully prepared soups, a kelp-based plus soy milk soup considerate of vegetarians, and the recreation of a recipe inherited from Akiko's grandmother, who used to hold cooking classes, along with the silky chashu and gyoza prepared the day before.
I felt the feelings imbued in each one, and was enveloped in a sense of security, as if I had returned to my hometown.
Before I knew it, five hours had flown by; it was a truly fulfilling time filled with smiles and warm conversation.
What was even more impressive was that the lovely couple who participated from Germany brought Kinder Bueno as a souvenir for Akiko's family within the limited baggage allowance of 23kg for international flights.
I was deeply moved by the way you cherish the feeling of "thank you" even while visiting from a distant country, and it made me strongly wish to be like that myself.
The experience on the Marutaka Seimen and Akiko's tour was an unforgettable time, where I could experience not only the joy of cooking but also the warmth and thoughtfulness of the people.
Since there are recipes that can accommodate vegetarians and vegans, I'd like to invite my friend from Mauritius next time and participate together.
On Saturday afternoon and evening, we had a wonderful time with Akiko, her family and Taka at the noodle factory. It was really interesting and atmospheric to gain an insight into how ramen noodles are made. Each of us was allowed to make our own individual noodles.
Afterwards, we went to Akiko’s home to cook together. We really appreciate being invited there and being looked after by Akiko and her family. It was great fun, the food was delicious and plentiful, we had good conversations and a brilliant time. Highly recommended!

Unique cultural immersion into ramen making
The ramen tour with Akiko was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan! Akiko-san was communicative from the time I booked my tour and she guided me on where to purchase kombu. Coming back to the tour, Akiko first took me to her family’s ramen factory which is currently being run by her brother Takka-san who provided a brief history of ramen and the way to make it. It was thrilling to get to choose a dough and make ramen, which ultimately Akiko-san prepared for dinner. I have done food tours in other countries but this one was so filled with warmth and hospitality, that I felt like a friend by the end of the evening.

Authentic, delicious, and unforgettable
This experience was an absolute highlight on our Japan trip and is a memory we will fondly look back on. Akiko-san and her brother, Taka-san, made us feel very welcomed, showed us the process of making Ramen noodles in great depth and answered every question we had. Cooking and eating our own delicious Ramen later at Akiko-san's home was the perfect ending to an already amazing day. If you want to experience authentic local culture, learn about types of ramen noodles, or just love eating great food - do yourself a favor and book this. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

A truly extraordinary and perfect ramen evening!
Everything has already been described in the reviews so far and I can only agree: A perfect afternoon and evening with Akiko and her brother Tako, who runs his small ramen factory in the third generation and explained all the production processes with enthusiasm and then let everyone make their own pasta according to their individual wishes. At the subsequent evening together in Akiko's apartment, she proved to be a perfect hostess and guide who always had the overview and had thought every detail through lovingly. The atmosphere was therefore magnificent and the prepared ramen soup and the Gyoza excellent. I can (and will) recommend the course to everyone.

美味しい日本の家庭料理と温かい交流も楽しめる体験
Ramen Adventure is a very special experience because you can actually visit a noodle factory. You can learn in detail about ramen noodles and even try making them yourself. It is not just a cooking experience; it is also a wonderful opportunity to interact with Akiko and the other guests.
Akiko’s home was warm and beautiful, with lovely details such as tableware, chopstick rests, and a decorative obi. It was a wonderful space where you could feel genuine Japanese hospitality. Akiko and her family were very friendly, and their two adorable dogs made the experience even more heartwarming.
I highly recommend this experience to ramen lovers, anyone interested in Japanese home culture, and travelers who want to connect with local people during their trip. I think it is a valuable and lovely experience for both Japanese guests and visitors from overseas.

A Genuine and Delicious Cultural Experience
Akiko’s Ramen experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! We not only learned about the process behind one of our favorite foods, but we also got a valuable insight into Akiko’s culture and life in Japan. Her family’s hospitality blew us away, and we felt warm and welcome from the first moments of the experience. The food was just as incredible as the company, and we are so thankful to have created a meal and a memory with Akiko and her family. 10/10 recommend!

An unforgettable experience full of warmth and genuine hospitality
We had the pleasure of meeting Akiko and Taka, and this experience was truly something very special. First, we visited their ramen factory, which has been family-owned for many years. Even there, you could immediately feel how much passion, tradition, and heart they put into everything they do.
After that, we were able to make our own ramen, which was already an absolute highlight. Afterwards, we were invited to Akiko’s home, where we prepared the ramen soup together. We also had gyoza and a wonderful dessert. It was not only incredibly delicious, but also one of the warmest and most unique experiences we have ever had.
The whole atmosphere was simply extraordinary so warm, personal, and authentic. We felt welcome from the very first moment. The kindness of Akiko, Taka, and everyone involved truly touched us.
There was so much delicious food, and everything was made with so much love. This is an experience we will never forget.
From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to say thank you. We can truly recommend this experience to everyone who wants to enjoy not only amazing food, but also real hospitality and a very special insight into Japanese culture.❤️🌸
