I studied the Eleusinian Mysteries for about a decade, so this tour was nothing short of magic for me. Pericles picked me up right outside my accomodations, and the tour took me from spot to spot along the sacred way, stopping to see places where subway construction unearthed the path of dedicants to Eleusis. The monastery was fascinating, but the shrine to Aphrodite, and the bridge built by Hadrian were genuinely amazing to have time to tour and explore. For me, I was grateful to have time on my own in the archaeological sites to explore on my own time. I strongly recommend this tour for folks who have any background or understanding of the Eleusinian Mysteries. Friends of mine have gone from Athens out to the archaeological site in Eleusis by bus, but they didn't get the chance to explore the stops along the way and I was grateful for the experience Pericles has curated to take people through the sacred path.
