ヒューストン唯一のウォーキングツアー! このグループツアーでは、アメリカで4番目に大きな都市、テキサスの歴史、建築、そしてテキサスならではの雰囲気に触れます。 ヒューストンで最も古い建物から、市内で最も高い高層ビルまで、ヒューストンの歴史と建築を巡る旅へ。 街の歴史地区を散策し、20世紀初頭のアールデコ建築の傑作の数々を鑑賞したり、ストリートアートや現代の壁画について語り合ったりしてみましょう。 ヒューストンの近代的な軌道に乗って（無料！）、市内の歴史地区と超近代的なスカイライン地区の間を移動します。 約2マイル歩きます。 なお、このツアーは車椅子でのご利用はできません。

ヒューストン発祥の地へようこそ。ヒューストンの歴史的地区の中心にあります。 市内で最も古い建築物のそばを通りながら、ヒューストンの起源について語ります。 また、市内で最も人気のあるインスタグラムの写真「ヒューストンはインスピレーションを受けている」壁画で写真を撮るチャンスもあります。
建築黄金時代のヒューストンで最も見事な高層ビルのひとつであるガルフ・ビルディングの、時代を超えたエレガンスを見よ！ 1929年に完成したこのアールデコ様式の傑作は、37階建ての高さにそびえ立ち、複雑なセット、きらめく大理石、息をのむような壁画で覆われたロビーで飾られています。 かつてはヒューストンで最も高い建物だったが、階段状の王冠が夜空を照らし、今でも注目を浴びている。
世界レベルの舞台芸術のまばゆいばかりの拠点、ヒューストンのシアター・ディストリクトの魅力を体感！ 大胆なブルータリスト・デザインと画期的な演出が印象的なアレイ・シアターや、象徴的な大理石の内装と完璧な音響が印象的なコンサート会場ジョーンズ・ホールなど、この地区は創造性に溢れています。
1930年代建築の傑作、アールデコ調の印象的な市庁舎でヒューストンの行政の中心を発見！ 1939年に完成したこの石灰岩張りのランドマークは、大胆な幾何学的なデザイン、複雑なフリーズ、ヘルマン広場での圧倒的な存在感を誇っています。 その壮大なファサードを眺めながら歴史に足を踏み入れ、壁の裏側にある力強い物語について学びましょう。

ヒューストンを代表する建築の珠玉、ニールス・エスパーソン・ビルディングの壮大さに、時間を遡って驚嘆しましょう！ 1927年に竣工したこの見事なイタリア・ルネサンス様式の超高層ビルは、不動産界の重鎮ニールス・エスパーソンへの賛辞として、妻のメリによって建てられた。 印象的なテラコッタのディテール、壮大な円柱、そして王冠のような寺院は、ヒューストンの初期の超高層ビル時代のまばゆいばかりの証です。

Highly recommend this tour! John was a great guide, he kept it going sharing fantastic facts and stories about Houston. We were from out of town, however the other 4 people lived in Houston. They even said they learned so much on this tour! John's clearly knowledgeable and knows so many fun facts from being a local Houstonian. The time went by super quick and John left us with restaurant and event recommendations that we enjoyed the rest of our visit.
“Did the History, architecture, street art Walking Tour in Houston yesterday and it was the highlight of my trip. The route was well planned, with a good balance of famous landmarks and hidden spots. Our guide, John, was knowledgeable, funny, and kept the whole group engaged with stories and historical context instead of just listing dates. The pace was comfortable, with plenty of time for photos and questions, and there were short restroom, water break.
What a joy to see a city you’ve always loved through the eyes of someone with the same passion! John, tells a great story, keeps everyone involved, and knows his hometown! I learned so much and would highly recommend this easy walking tour of H-town!

I moved from SF to Houston almost a year ago, and only knew the downtown Houston by attending the Houston Symphony and Houston Ballet.. so Jobes Hall and Wortham. So when I heard about the 2 hour downtown Houston guided walking tour I grabbed a slot! John was such an impressive tour guide. His knowledge of Houston architecture, Texas and Houston history and arts culture. It was a very informative tour and I feel like I know so much more about the city I am now living in! I highly recommend going on a guided tour.. but please make sure that John Hu is your tour guide! Thank you John!
Have you ever met someone who is an absolute natural at what they do? Like born to do this thing in life?! …and you just think to yourself, “Wow.” That’s John. His walking tour of Downtown Houston was effortless and so relaxed. At the same time, it was fresh and funny. I had such a good time. As someone who has participated on countless tours - seriously - I was so impressed by this experience. Hands down recommend this tour for any visitor or local in Houston.
The walk itself is fun the added bonus is meeting people from all over the world. On our tour we met a woman from Manchester and took her to lunch…This is a vibrant city with a pulse so enjoy the city, the vibe and your awesome host…
The guide was quite friendly and knowledgeable. He kept track of everyone even though the group was fairly large. Enjoyed the tour to the fullest.
