Absolutely amazing! We had a blast and the movies will be a memories we will always remember. Kesuke and Kazuya were awesome and the real deal. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience and instructors. Learn how to handle a sword and perform some signature moves. Dressing up as a samurai. Took pictures in a beautiful temple. Shoot a short video of a fighting scene. Feel immerse in the Japanese culture. Location is nice. Took a train from Kyoto station for about 5 minutes. Walk for about 8 minutes to the location. Instructors were nice, informative, patience, and professional. There was a couple in our group that was very rude and inconsiderate. While the instructors were explaining and giving lessons, they just leave and do whatever they are doing. The instructors have to pause and wait for them to return in order to resume. This happened so many times. One time we have to wait at least 10 minutes. The session is time limited. Very inconsiderate of the instructors and other people times. The instructors might have another group behind us. Other people might have other plans so need to leave right away. At the very least have the courtesy to tell everyone what is going on instead of just taking off. During this whole time, the instructors were courteous and accommodating. They never seem overtly upset. I would not be surprised if they were internally upset. Highly recommend this experience!

Great experience with friends; we had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves. The actors are very committed and give their all.

Very fun! You’ll start by learning a few techniques with a sword, then you’ll pick a traditional samurai outfit, then practice for a filming experience. You’ll film outside in front of Myokaku-ji Temple and take photos as well. The instructors are so kind and fun. A unique experience we won’t forget!

Learned different language & samurai movements to go with the commands. A very unique & rewarding learning experience taught by talented, knowledgeable & kind Samurai!

The chaps here did a great job of showing us the moves and were kind and reassuring and didn’t make me feel silly when I couldn’t master the moves! Enjoy.

Experiencing the Samurai program at Myokakuji Temple was truly one of the most memorable parts of our Japan trip. The experience was immersive, authentic, and very well organized from start to finish. A special thanks to Sensei Kazuka Naito and Sensei Kesuke Irie for making the session both educational and enjoyable. Their passion, discipline, and professionalism really stood out throughout the training. They patiently guided us through samurai etiquette, sword handling, and techniques while also sharing the deeper meaning behind the samurai spirit and traditions. Being able to wear traditional attire and train inside the peaceful atmosphere of the temple made the experience feel incredibly special and culturally enriching. It was not only fun and exciting, but also respectful and meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto and looking for a unique cultural experience that goes beyond the usual tourist activities. An unforgettable experience that we will definitely cherish.

This was a fun and incredible experience for my husband! He was taught the moves and “script”, practiced, then shot the “movie”! Highly recommend! PS. Follow the location directions they send you so you can find the location with ease. Enjoy!
