As seasoned travelers and generally adventurous eaters who love Tokyo's food scene, this was easily the worst food tour we’ve ever experienced in many we’ve taken across the world. We actually had to go eat dinner afterward because we actively didn't eat some of the food because it was just that bad. The food was underwhelming and overpriced. We calculated that the actual food cost couldn't have been more than $15 per person. You can easily spend that same $100 per person at countless incredible restaurants across Tokyo and get a vastly superior meal and experience for your money. Instead of sampling yakitori at Memory Lane, we just walked right through it and were served cold tonkatsu and a salad with spam, and the itinerary description promised a visit to Golden Gai which we never went to. While our guide was friendly and accommodating, they lacked basic knowledge about Japanese food and beverages, leaving several of our questions unanswered. Given our experience, we are genuinely shocked by the thousands of five-star reviews this tour has, though that mystery was solved at the end when they make you scan a QR code to leave a review right in front of them, which felt like a high-pressure way to inflate their ratings. We agree with the handful of other 1-2 star reviews, skip it.

This tour entails quite a bit of walking around the Shinjuku district. Make sure you take an umbrella ☂️. The tour was fantastic and our guide was delightful.

Our group of 8 family/ friends enjoyed our guide Daniel. He shared his knowledge of the long standing history behind Shinjuku and post war food initiatives to keep the local families fed during such hard times. Our 4 food stops were delicious and Daniel told us many interesting food culture stories behind many of the foodie items we shared together! “ Memory lane “ a very special part of our tour and ending with “ Japanese custard filled pancakes. Thank you Daniel for a wonderful and delicious foodie tour!!

Fantastic!!! Our tour guide, Woosang, was knowledgeable, funny, and very personable. We ate lots and learned so much about the area and culture. We loved it and highly recommend it. Get Woosang, and you'll have a great experience!

Got to try a lot of different kinds of food (and drinks) I probably wouldn't have otherwise which is why I'm glad to have done this tour. Emma, the guide, seemed like she genuinely cared about the group having a good time!

Kai was our tour guide and he couldn’t have been nicer. He spoke English so well and was so helpful. We tried a large variety of foods that are unique to Japan and he was very knowledgeable.
