We booked the hike directly with Codi from Trails Await. Having hiked with Codi before, when we inquired about a tour up Table Mountain, he recommended the India Venster route. And man, we definitely didn't regret taking his advice! As a guide, we would rate Codi 10 stars if we could. He gave us exactly the right amount of instruction, paced the hike perfectly, and shared a lot of great insight about the city, flora, and fauna along the way. Plus, he's just awesome company: it was great sharing an ice cold beer on top as a reward. I would 100% recommend booking a tour with Codi whenever you're in Cape Town!

We did both the sunset hike and the sunrise tour within two days – and both were simply magnificent! 🌅🥾 We were accompanied by Kurt Krieger on the sunset tour. Kurt was a super personable and attentive guide, explained everything very clearly, incorporated small breaks again and again, and made sure that everyone kept up well. Along the way, he told us a lot of interesting information about Cape Town, the people, and life there. The sunset and the view were, of course, the absolute highlight! The next morning, we did the hike again for the sunrise, this time with Codi. This tour was also really beautiful. Codi guided the group perfectly, was very attentive, and created a great atmosphere with his relaxed and likable manner. The sunrise from above was simply incredible and definitely an experience we won't forget anytime soon. 🌄 The fact that we did the hike twice says it all. 😄 Both tours were beautiful in their own way, and both Kurt and Codi did a great job. For us, clearly 10/10! ⭐️ We would do the tour again anytime and can really recommend it to anyone who is in Cape Town. Many thanks to Kurt and Codi for two unforgettable experiences!

Full immersion into South African culture! Our tour guide, Mr Codi was phenomenal and even shared his personal cultural background deeply routed into Cape Malay.

I chose Kasteelspoort because I wanted to experience the quieter side of Table Mountain, and it was the right decision. I had expected a cold winter hike, but the day turned out to be unusually warm, so there was still plenty of climbing and sweating. The hike took around four hours, although I am quite a fast climber, so others may want to allow a little longer. Codi and Charl were fantastic throughout. The pick-up was punctual, and everything felt friendly, relaxed, and personal. Codi made sure I felt safe and comfortable without rushing me or controlling the pace. I was surprised by how few people were on the trail. We met only a handful of locals along the way, mostly students. The atmosphere was peaceful, but this is still a proper hike rather than a gentle walk. The views certainly made the effort worthwhile. Taking different routes up and down also allowed me to see more of Table Mountain. Along the way, Codi and Charl shared stories about Cape Town, its communities, and South Africa, which made the experience much more meaningful than a standard guided hike. A memorable day with two amazing local guides!

I had a really lovely hike up Kasteelspoort on Table Mountain. I booked it in winter, but the day turned out to be unusually warm, and Codi handled it so well. Codi adjusted the hike naturally, making sure it still felt safe, comfortable, and enjoyable. Charl was also nice and added to the relaxed feel of the day. I was picked up on time, and from the beginning, the experience felt very personal. I hike quite regularly, so we were able to move at a good pace, but I could tell they would easily slow things down for anyone who is not used to hiking. It did not feel like a rigid tour at all, more like being guided by someone who genuinely wanted me to enjoy the mountain. Kasteelspoort was such a beautiful route and we took about 4 hours. It was much quieter than places like Lion’s Head. I also appreciated that we went up and down different routes, so I could see more of Table Mountain. Codi also shared stories and insights about Cape Town, its people, and South Africa, which made the hike more meaningful than just reaching the top. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and I’m very happy to support a small local business. Highly recommended.

Codi was very kind and arranged a last minute hike adjusted to my schedule. He was a great guide, very knowledgeable, had a very encouraging attitude and overall it was a great way to spend the time! The views were amazing and the experience unique. I highly recommend doing this hike.
