We had a beautiful sunrise. Our guide, José, was incredible. He led us with great patience, made sure we took breaks whenever needed, and was always checking on us to see if we needed to rest or catch our breath. The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Everything was well organized from beginning to end. We highly recommend this experience it was truly unforgettable!
We had such a great experience with José! We were staying at an Airbnb in San Juan that was not close to any of the tour’s pickup locations. We reached out to José, and he was very quick to respond and incredibly accommodating, picking us up at our location on the way to the trailhead. We are avid hikers and found the hike quite easy, but don’t let the steepness deter you. José was very attentive to the group, making sure everyone stayed together and taking breaks as needed. At the top, we were greeted with an incredible sunrise, hot chocolate, and pastries. José also spent one-on-one time with each group, explaining the local culture and the surrounding volcano landscape. This is a newer tour, so don’t let the smaller number of reviews deter you from booking—it’s a fantastic experience! Be sure to ask José about his other guided experiences too. 10/10— would recommend booking this hike with José!

Beautiful sunrise enjoyed with cocoa and a roll that was provided to everyone at no extra charge. Jose was a great guide who stayed in communication with us from the booking until he dropped us off. View of the lake and volcanoes were well worth the many steps to get there!
We absolutely loved this experience and would recommend to any traveler looking to see a beautiful sunrise and Mountain Views. Pick up was well coordinated and Jose was a knowledgable and helpful guide up the mountain. This is must do in San Pedro, especially with Jose!
Our Indian Nose (Rostro Maya) sunrise hike was one of the highlights of our trip to Guatemala. We were staying in Panajachel, and our guide, Chema (José), arranged all of our transportation to the meeting point. There was an extra charge for the transfer, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was well organized, on time, and completely hassle-free. The hike was enjoyable, and we were able to go at our own pace without ever feeling rushed. Chema was patient, professional, and attentive throughout the entire experience. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe, gave us time to rest whenever needed, and always kept an eye on the group. His communication before and during the tour was excellent, making everything easy and stress-free. Reaching the viewpoint before sunrise was an unforgettable experience. Watching the sun rise over Lake Atitlán as the sky slowly changed colors and the volcanoes emerged in the morning light was absolutely breathtaking. Chema also knew the best spots for photos and even took some amazing pictures for us that we’ll always treasure. From the excellent communication before the tour to the well-organized transportation and the care he showed throughout the hike, everything exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking to experience the Indian Nose sunrise hike, we highly recommend Chema (José). We would definitely book another tour with him!
The sunrise hike was memorable! Chema is an exceptional guide who cares about the well-being of the participants. The hot chocolate and traditional bread served at the summit add to this unique experience which offers an exceptional view of Lake Atitlán and the volcanoes that surround it. I highly recommend it!
A very early morning but worth it. Our hotel is outside of the city, so we had to pay extra for pickup and drop off which was fine. The van was over capacity with other groups which made the ride a bit uncomfortable. Our guide was Chema; he checked on us throughout the hike and got us good seats for the sunrise. He also took our photos. Overall, it was a nice experience.
Chema is an excellent guide! I felt very safe and knowledgeable throughout the experience. It was worth having such a guide to go up and know the Mayan face. Thank you very much for the great experience!
