ITA: My husband and I had this experience at the panda breeding center, which moved us a lot. Our guide came to pick us up at the hotel and, after a trip of almost two hours, we arrived at the center. Here they accompanied us to the first floor of a building, where they provided us with green polo shirts to wear during the day, as volunteers. At the end of the tour we returned to the same building to receive our certificates and some gifts: each of us was given a canvas bag with the image of the pandas and a pack of postcards. Besides us, there was another group of Europeans accompanied by another guide. The whole group was then driven around the center in small open minibuses, together with a guide from the center who explained the various activities, the life of the pandas, and some interesting facts. All together we went to see the pandas outdoors, the two-month-old cub in its crib, and, subsequently, we arrived in the area reserved for our activity. We all thought that we would feed the pandas directly, but in reality, the activity consisted of splitting bamboo and, subsequently, observing the pandas while they received food from the cages, which constitute the inner part of their houses and are visible from the outside. My husband and I then chose to continue the experience on our own, preparing and kneading small cakes that would subsequently be baked and given to the pandas. Other activities were also included, but we did not do them, although we ate at the center's canteen together with some children who were there on a field trip and some staff members. To fill the rest of our visit, we stayed in the various areas of the center a bit longer, trying to see the pandas up close, also because it was raining at the beginning of the visit and many of them were inside their little houses. Overall, we were satisfied with the experience, which moved us a lot. However, both we and the other group participants thought that there would have been a greater possibility to interact directly with the pandas, especially considering that we had seen that the other tour dedicated to the red pandas provided for greater interaction. However, both we and the other participants in our group had expected to have more opportunities to interact directly with the pandas, especially as we had seen that the other tour involving the red pandas offered more direct interaction.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the panda reserve. Our guide, Perry, was absolutely fantastic. He had an incredible amount of knowledge about pandas and shared many interesting facts and stories throughout the tour. His English was excellent, and he explained everything clearly and in a very engaging way. Perry was also very friendly, professional, and passionate about his work, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We learned a lot and had a truly memorable time. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Perry as a guide. Thank you for such a fantastic experience!

It’s a great experience to visit the Panda Center. Kids and adults love it. We were lucky to have Cindy as our guide. She knows the best places and how to avoid the crowds. And she was exceptionally kind with us and the kids.

It was wonderful being at the Panda Base. While my preconceived notions of the experience to be much closer in proximity to the pandas as seen in the marketing photo, the experience itself was still well worth it. While the crowd sizes were large and it turned out the inside breeding center was closed that day, Perry did a wonderful job of making sure we got the best shots and the easier navigation route to beat some of the masses. He was extremely attentive, making sure we had the best time possible.

My half day trip to see the pandas was perfect. Perry arrived exactly on time at 07:30 and we beat the crowds on an unusually hot day. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the giant pandas and helped me get to the best vantage points. The Red Pandas and Golden Monkeys were right out front in their enclosures. The half day was plenty of time to see young pandas creating mischief without feeling rushed. Great tour and Perry is a great guide.

We had a great day, even in the heat! Our guide, Perry, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He made sure everything went smoothly starting with pickup from our hotel. It was a very hot day, and throughout the tour he made sure we had water and he even brought a small fan to cool us down. He was great about making sure we saw the pandas and had the best views. Cuteness overload! I definitely recommend this tour!

Our guide Cindy was great. Pickup on time. The key seems to be to go early and hope for cooler weather- we were fortunate on both and saw many active pandas. Crowds swell when there is a sighting but just be patient.
